The Seattle Mariners host the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night in the opening game of a three-game set at Safeco Field. The Blue Jays arrived in Seattle a little later than they would have liked as a result of a marathon victory over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday.
The Angels finally nipped the Orioles in the series finale. It was the third one run ballgame of the series and for once the Angels had the answer.
The Pirates may be in 4th place but they are officially back in the race. Last year they stood toe to toe with St. Louis and didn’t blink but so far they are blowing this opportunity to gain ground on the Cardinals, losing the first two games of the series.
The Pirates have dug themselves a hole but it is possible they can make the NL Central a three team race if they can keep chipping away. With last night’s win over Los Angeles they have won 6 of 10 even though their offense and pitching have yet to click.
The Yankees will be looking for their second win in a row and second regular-season win in nine years in St. Louis when they face off against the Cardinals in game two of a three-game set on Tuesday.
On the season the Yankees have an Over/Under record of 14-18 and a run-line W/L record of 15-17 and the Angels have an Over/Under record of 19-12 and a run-line W/L record of 19-13.
The Toronto Blue Jays will head down to Maryland to begin a three-game set with the Baltimore Orioles on Friday. Toronto is coming off a disappointing end to their series with Houston, dropping the third game after winning the first two, while Baltimore has turned things around after a slow start, winning three of its last four games.

The 14-6 Haren has been a great addition to the D-backs and his 3.12 ERA is among the best in the league as well. Oddsmakers are begging for us to take the over with this line, but we won’t take the bait.
