NHL news: Sharks retain Marleau, Pavelski; Thrashers hire Craig Ramsay as head coach
Cross one more name off the list of prominent unrestricted free agents for the 2010 offseason. Patrick Marleau is staying with the San Jose Sharks. He signed a four year, $27.6-million deal that is deemed quite reasonable by anyone critiquing the trade, especially because of its relatively short term.
As we await tonight’s NHL draft, we’ll start with an NBA draft summary.
It was a fairly uneventful draft night in that there were few surprises but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t exciting to see who went where.
After months of anticipation, speculation, and analysis the 2009 NFL draft finally kicked off around 4:00 P.M. with the announcement that the Detroit Lions were on the clock. Detroit had actually been on the clock since the midway point of last season in route to going 0-16. They had already come to terms with Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford so there was no drama with the first overall pick.
