2015 Arizona Diamondbacks Season Predictions | MLB Betting Preview & Odds

2015 MLB Team Season Previews – D-Backs

The Arizona Diamondbacks will be looking to improve upon a disastrous 2014 campaign that saw the team go 64-98 when they take to the field in 2015 with a lineup eerily similar to the one that underwhelmed in a big way last year.

Stephen Drew & Carlos Gomez Injuries | Thursday MLB Gossip

July 21st 2011: Daily Sports News – Gossip – Headlines

MLB news: Stephen Drew breaks ankle, out for season

The Arizona Diamondbacks’ playoff hopes took a massive blow last night when shortstop Stephen Drew fractured his right ankle.

Stephen Drew breaks ankle

Drew suffered the injury against the Milwaukee Brewers sliding into home while trying to score from second on a Chris Young hit.

Drew was called out on the play and had to be helped off the field.

Early reports suggest he’s out for the season. Drew was batting .252 with five homers and 45 RBI in a power-sapped season.

Carlos Gomez breaks collarbone

In the same game, the Brewers lost centerfielder Carlos Gomez to a major injury. Gomez broke his collarbone while attempting a diving catch on a Ryan Roberts fly ball.

He’s expected to miss two months. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Handicapping 2011 Surprise MLB Teams – Doc’s Sports

Surprise MLB Teams Good for the Book

Not many people expected Cleveland to be one of the best teams in baseball. Nor did many think Arizona would be neck and neck with the World Series champs. They didn’t believe Seattle had much of a chance either.

D-Backs vs. Padres Free MLB Monday Pick

D-Backs vs. Padres Free MLB Monday Pick

1 Unit FREE PLAY on D-backs/Padres UNDER 6.5 (listing Haren and Peavy)

I like the UNDER in this NL West pitcher’s duel scheduled for Monday night. Peavy’s ERA is a brilliant 2.84 and the Padres never bring run support behind him. The Under is 7-1-1 in Peavy’s last 9 starts overall, 5-0 in Peavy’s last 5 home starts vs. a team with a winning record, and 7-2 in the Padres last 9 home games. The 14-6 Haren has been a great addition to the D-backs and his 3.12 ERA is among the best in the league as well. Oddsmakers are begging for us to take the over with this line, but we won’t take the bait.

Jimmy Boyd’s ***TOP PLAY*** (Preseason) MNF GAME OF THE YEAR goes in Monday’s BIG TIME 4-Pack! Give your man a hit he’ll never forget with Jimmy’s strongest T.V. side of the exihibition season.

Daily Sports Roundup – August 13th

Daily Sports Roundup: August 13

With outfielder Adam Dunn now on the roster the Diamondbacks will be looking to pull away from the rival Dodgers in the NL West race. Here’s your Daily Sports Roundup . . .

Event of the day . . .

Dunn and the Diamondbacks will continue their series in Colorado against the Rockies on Wednesday night. Arizona countered the Dodgers’ acquisition of Manny Ramirez by dealing for the slugging Reds outfielder on Monday afternoon, in exchange for minor league pitcher Dallas Buck and a pair of players to be named later. Dunn has had trouble with his batting average this year, but he’s still able to blast home runs.

And Doug Davis (4-7, 4.75 ERA) will be looking to Dunn to provide him some offense on Wednesday night, as he takes the mound for Arizona. The lefthander has been terrible in each of his last two outings, giving up a combined 12 earned runs on 15 hits in just six innings of work. The Diamondbacks are 3-7 in Davis’ last 10 trips to the mound.

Jeff Francis (3-8, 5.81 ERA) hasn’t been any better, as the Rockies are 3-7 in his last 10 starts as well. The lefthander was knocked around in his return from the disabled list on August 7, giving up five earned runs on eight hits over 5 1-3 innings versus the light-hitting Nationals. Unless one or both of those starting pitchers show some progress on Wednesday night Dunn and the rest of the hitters could have a field day.

Non-event of the day . . .

Dunn’s old team remains mired in last place in the NL Central standings, and they’ll take on their closest cellar competitor on Wednesday. Cincinnati will send Josh Fogg (2-4, 7.98 ERA) to the mound in that contest, and he’ll be countered by Pittsburgh’s Paul Maholm (7-7, 3.76 ERA). Fogg might not last much longer in the Reds’ rotation, as the team is 0-3 in his last three outings (in which he allowed a healthy 16 runs).
