Cleveland Cavaliers’ Odds To Win 2016 NBA Championship

Betting NBA Futures?

The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently listed as the favorites to win the 2016 NBA Championship, and it’s easy to see why. After all, this is virtually the same team that pushed the eventual-2015 champion Golden State Warriors to six games in the Finals without Kevin Love or Kyrie Irving on the court — except it’s presumably going to enter next year’s campaign

A series that was going to be scrappy and physical lived up to those expectations in Game 1 as Cleveland stole home court advantage right off the bat. Now, with both teams dealing with injury problems, Atlanta will look to even things up in a pivotal Game 2 on Friday.

[dfads params=’groups=63742&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The Hawks might be in for some serious problems as they may need to figure out who will try to contain Lebron James as DeMarre Carroll remains questionable for the game.

(2) Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers stole home court advantage immediately as they pulled away in the 2nd half to secure a 97-89 win over Atlanta in Game 1. However, Kyrie Irving remained on the bench for a majority of the 2nd half, but his status remains positive for Game 2.

Irving aggravated his left knee in Game 1 and did not return as the Cavaliers went to Matthew Dellavedoa. Irving missed shootout around and was officially tabbed the “questionable” label for Game 2.

[dfads params=’groups=63727&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

When talking to reporters though, Irving told them he would be willing to play through the discomfort.

He ended up finishing with 10 points and 6 assists in the 27 minutes he played in Game 1.

Cleveland also got another scare when Lebron James stepped on the leg of a TNT cameraman and was seen visibly limping off the court. His ankle injury, now combined with his bad back could be a lingering problem for James.

However, he didn’t looked phased down the stretch of Game 1 as he dominated and finished with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists in the win.

(1) Atlanta Hawks

Atlanta not only lost home court advantage, but they may have lost their best player this postseason. DeMarre Carroll went down in grimacing pain in the 3rd quarter following a layup attempt and was aided to the locker room. Carroll had the duties of guarding Lebron James in Game 1.

In an MRI Thursday it was revealed he had a bruised bone and is officially questionable for Game 2.

Carroll had just 5 points and 3 rebounds, but was doing a stellar job at slowing down Lebron. Should Carroll not be able to go, Kent Bazemore will more than likely get the honors of guarding James.

While Jeff Teague played very well in Game 1, Paul Millsap and Dennis Schroder shot a combined 5 of 21 from the field. Both players will need to step up considerably if Atlanta hopes to avoid a 2-0 gap.

[dfads params=’groups=63741&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Kyle Korver has averaged just 5.2 points over his last 5 games.

NBA Handicapping Trends:

  • Cavaliers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
  • Cavaliers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Conference Finals games.
  • Hawks are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games.
  • Hawks are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.

Free 4* NBA Pick: Atlanta -2

While Carroll’s status is up in the air right now, Atlanta is the number 1 seed for a reason.

Atlanta 107, Cleveland 100

They know a 2-0 hole to Cleveland is almost insurmountable. The Hawks even things up Friday and the series is back on.

NBA Predictions: Bulls vs. Cavaliers Picks

NBA betting action sees the Chicago Bulls taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers Tuesday May 12th at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Cappers Picks provides free NBA handicapping tips all season long.

Both teams return to Cleveland following their own respective buzzer beating shots. Derrick Rose banked in a game winner in Game 3 to give the Bulls a 2-1 series lead. That was only to be followed up by a Lebron James fade away jumper at the buzzer in Game 4 to even things back up. Now both teams look to take a 3-2 lead as the series shifts back to Cleveland. This time around, the fans inside Quicken Loans Arena will get to see J.R. Smith as he missed the first two in Cleveland due to suspension.

Chicago Bulls

The Bulls saw their home court advantage go up in flames as Lebron James faded away from the corner with 1.1 seconds and drilled a game winning shot. Now, Chicago will try to steal home court advantage back as they invade Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday night, where they’ve proven they can win.

The recipe for success has come from Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose. In Game 1, the duo combined for 45 points and in Game 3 they went for 50.

The biggest question mark for Chicago right now will be Pau Gasol and his health. Gasol missed Game 4 with a hamstring injury and his presence was greatly missed. He will test out his hamstring at shoot around Tuesday morning. Gasol went for 21 and 10 in the Bulls Game 1 win, but his contributions have greatly decreased as he’s battled his hamstring. If healthy, Chicago would be in a much better place for Game 5.

Should he not be able to go, the pressure will be shifted once again to C Joakim Noah. Noah did have 15 rebounds in Game 4, but contributed only 8 points. He’ll need to pick up the scoring to replace Gasol’s missing points.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers have felt the struggles at times without Kevin Love in the lineup. With the help of some bench players stepping up and Lebron James and Kyrie Irving, Cleveland isn’t backing down from anyone. Lebron James buzzer beater was just another notch in his belt as he gave Cleveland home court advantage back.

Health is the main thing stopping Cleveland at this moment however. Even though they will play through it, Lebron James and Kyrie Irving are far from 100% according to reports.

Kyrie Irving’s MRI showed he not only had a sprained right foot, but also had tendinitis in his left knee.

Irving has shot just 5 of 23 from the field over the past two games.

Lebron James has been battling an ankle injury all post season, but announced he will for sure play in Game 5.

Lebron will look to find his range from behind the arc as he is just 2 of 19 from 3 point range.

NBA Handicapping Trends:

  • Bulls are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS win.
  • Bulls are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games.
  • Cavaliers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a S.U. win.
  • Cavaliers are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 vs. NBA Central.

Free 4* NBA Pick: Chicago +5.5

With the status and news of Irving not being close to 100%, the Bulls with the points here is the play. This should be a close, back and forth game like both games in Chicago.

Chicago 99, Cleveland 98

Gambling On Cleveland Cavaliers 2015 NBA Championship Odds

Betting on NBA Futures?

LeBron James said when we re-signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers that he knew a championship wouldn’t be easy. He didn’t claim to be on the hunt for six, seven, eight titles, as he notoriously did when he arrived in South Beach with the Miami Heat.
