While BIG EAST CONFERENCE FOOTBALL continues to come up big in bowl games (12-4 SU the last three years), the fact of the matter is the league continues to shrink in stature. That’s because a dismal 15-25 ATS performance mark outside the conference last season watered down a sparkling 81-37 ATS effort the prior three years.

Big East – We’ll start with a tough one. The odds would logically suggest that three teams are favored well above the rest – UConn and Pitt at 7/4, and Louisville at 9/4. Head to head matchups don’t help much – Pitt beat UConn twice but lost to Louisville, and the Cardinals lost to UConn.
Madison Square Garden plays host to tonights Big East matchup between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the West Virginia Mountaineers. Notre Dame comes into this matchup off a 61-50 win over Rutgers, while West Virginia brings some anger in off their last game loss to Louisville.
The Big east this year is perhaps the best in all of College basketball with several well balanced teams. When looking at prior Big East tournaments we note that the winner is like most other conference tournaments with the #1 or 2 seed the victor.
