New York Yankees (10-7) vs Tampa Rays (8-10)
I am not really sure how they are doing it but the New York Yankees are hanging in there despite missing several key members of their everyday lineup.

The Nationals fashion themsleves an elite team but after losing the series opener to the Mets are closer to the middle than the top of the National League East. They opened the series with Stephen Strasburg on the hill but the Mets weren’t shy in welcoming him to the Big Apple.
This is a big series for the Diamondbacks as they look to close ground on the surprising Rockies at the top of the division.
Detroit is sitting at the top of a bunchy American League Central right now.
They won the opener of their series against Seattle last night pushing their road record to over .500 for the season.
The Padres may have won yesterday to break their losing streak but they are still struggling greatly this season. They are already 6 games back in the standing of the N.L. West standings and will need more than just fire in their bellies to overcome.
The Phillies should be encouraged by the fact that they got a solid pitching performance from Roy Halladay yesterday. After taking two of three against the Marlins they are at .500 but still looking way up at the Braves in the National League East standings.
The offense has been much less impressive as they have are the 4th worst team in the Majors in runs scored so far, a real disappointment given they were supposed to have a revamped lineup and the seeming return to form of OF Carl Crawford.
The forecasted demise of the New York Yankees might have been a little premature. After yesterday’s drubbing of Cleveland they are at .500 and if lefty Andy Pettite continues to turn back the clock they may have something to say all season long.
The Mets have taken advantage of their schedule to get off to a nice start.
They are just behind the Braves in the National League East standings and if they can get another series win in Philadelphia they will really be pleased with themselves.
The Phillies have not gotten off to a good start and are looking to salvage a game in this opening series against division rival Atlanta. Starter Roy Halladay gave a confounding performance yesterday, racking up the strikeouts while giving up the long ball.
I want to take my pure MLB pick-maker hat off for a moment and exchange it for a betting advisor hat. A lot of bettors who read my picks wonder why I often (though not always) discuss MLB matchups a day or more in advance and not during game time — like when I make Sunday Night Baseball Picks.
The baseball season is picking up steam.
Today features more interleague MLB Gambling action, with the exception of the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds game.
One of the things interleague baseball allows for is cross-town rivalries and that is exactly what’s happening in the Windy City as the north side Chicago Cubs host the south side Chicago White Sox with the Cubbies listed as -165 favorites and the ChiSox at +145.
One month into the baseball betting marathon that is the MLB regular season is behind us and there have been some surprises thus far.
Let’s have a quick look at this opening month from a bettor’s perspective.
1) Who is the best “money” team in the AL East?
One of the most intriguing stories of last year’s Major League Baseball season was the Tampa Bay Rays.
The perennial doormat of the AL East, the Rays had a season for the ages, beating out perennial division power Boston Red Sox, for last year’s division title-Tampa Bay finished the regular season with a record of 97-65 while Boston finished second with a 95-67.

Seattle Mariners vs. Texas Rangers
1 Unit Free Play on Mariners/Rangers UNDER 12 Runs
Oddsmakers are expecting both teams to tee off in this one, but they have set the bar too high. The Under is 5-1 in the Rangers last 6 overall and 5-1 in the Rangers last 6 games vs. a right-handed starter. The Under is 8-3-1 in the Mariners last 12 Monday games, 4-1-1 in the Mariners last 6 road games vs. a team with a losing record, and 4-0 in the Mariners last 4 after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game.
