2009 World Series Betting

World Series: Phillies vs. Yankees

– 162-game regular season. Check.
– American and National League divisional series. Check.
– AL and NL championship series. Check.

When the New York Yankees defeated the L.A. Angels 5-2 in Game 6 of the ALCS on Sunday night, they not only won the AL Pennant and booked a date with the Philadelphia Phillies in the Fall Classic; they ensured that two of pro sports’ most obnoxious fans would see their teams vying for the World Series. Just kidding Yankee and Philly supporters…sort of.

A’s vs. Dodgers | Red Sox vs. Marlins Previews

MLB Betting Action

The baseball season is picking up steam.

Today features more interleague MLB Gambling action, with the exception of the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds game.

One of the things interleague baseball allows for is cross-town rivalries and that is exactly what’s happening in the Windy City as the north side Chicago Cubs host the south side Chicago White Sox with the Cubbies listed as -165 favorites and the ChiSox at +145.

Today’s MLB Betting Tip

Cubs vs Dodgers Saturday/Sunday Picks

MLB odds followers knew the Dodgers had a walk in the NL West this season, but weren’t the Cubs supposed to cruise as well? They haven’t held up their end of the bargain, as the NL Central has been very competitive. A series win against the first-overall Dodgers would go a long way for them.

Is Baseball Betting For You?

Why bet Baseball?  The answer is simplicity

By Tony George

Each year I write something that pertains to this subject.  Let me preface by saying that baseball is my least favorite spectator sport as a fan of the game, straight up or with action on it.  I am a huge College Football fan, being from Nebraska I have no choice, as well as NFL, NCAA Hoops (what’s better than March madness, really?) as well as the NBA.

Baseball Betting – Solid pitching highlights Giants-Mets battle

While most will be making their Preakness betting choices this weekend, there is an intriguing series on the baseball diamond that is worth your consideration. The lead in the American League West is up for grabs at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, as the division-topping Rangers host the Los Angeles Angels, who are starting to regain the form that has brought them two straight West titles.

Bodog: Red Sox & Yankees Betting Tips

The Fall (for now) of the Yankees and Red Sox

Handicapping Tips For Betting On MLB

Why You Should Bet on MLB

The best sport to wager on is Major League Baseball and it has been for many years because there is just so much value with several games being played everyday and yet it astounds me how few people bet on MLB. If you want to make money betting on sports and you do not wager on MLB then you are cheating yourself out of a lot of money and you are definitely not a professional sports bettor.

2009 AL West Future Lines: Predictions

Odds to Win MLB’s American League West

The AL West has been dominated by the Los Angeles Angels the last several seasons, winning their division four out of the last five years and in 2008 by a whopping 21 games. I do not see things being that easy for them in 2009 as the rest of the teams in the West have worked hard this past off season to try and close the gap.

2009 AL Central Future Lines: Predictions

Odds To Win The MLB AL Central

The AL Central should be the most wide open race in baseball as three maybe four teams have a legitimate shot to win this division. It will all come down to who has the best pitching late in the summer when there are those “must win” games on the line. Most likely there will be little margin for error, so every win becomes that more important.

2009 AL East Future Lines: Predictions

Odds to Win MLB’s American League East

The American League’s Eastern Division was extremely competitive last season with Tampa Bay shocking everyone by edging out Boston for the division crown. The Red Sox captured the Wild Card and four out of five teams finished with winning records. With some major off season acquisitions and some juggling of the line ups, 2009 is shaping up to be even more competitive and should be a thrilling race to the finish.

2009 NL West Future Lines: Predictions

Odds to Win MLB’s National League West

In one of the better division pennant races from last season, the Dodgers outlasted the Diamondbacks to win the NL West by 2 games. With Manny Ramirez aboard for the whole season, LA should be able to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the division.

Something tells me this isn’t going to be the case, as the NL West could be more competitive this season than most people think.

2009 NL Central Future Lines: Predictions

Odds to Win MLB’s National League Central

The NL Central has been dominated by the Chicago Cubs the last two seasons as they have clearly been the class of this division. While there have been some significant player moves by the rest of the teams to try and close the gap, it remains to be seen if it will enough to dethrone the Cubs.

Chicago Cubs -200: While shuffling their line up somewhat, this year’s team remains basically intact from last season’s team that won 97 games.

2009 NL East Future Lines: Predictions

Odds to Win MLB’s National League East

The NL East has basically been a two team battle the last few seasons with the Mets and the Phillies going down to the wire. The question this year is can anyone else in the division stay in the race long enough to challenge for the top spot.

Here is a look at the current odds to win the NL East.
