The 2009 Fantasy Football season is coming to a close and there was no shortage of amazing individual performances. There were a few players who rose to the top and became Dave B’s Fantasy All Stars.
A very interesting matchup of two middle-tier West Coast teams will take place in San Diego, when the Utah Utes and the Cal Golden Bears square off in the Poinsettia Bowl.
For Cal, it has been somewhat of a disappointing season, in a year when many expected them to contend for a Pac-10 crown. Offensively, they have and always will be led by a pro-style running game, which this year produced two 800 yards rushers.
The Cleveland Cavaliers (20-8 SU, 13-15 ATS, 12-14-2 O/U) will be looking to get back in the win column after having their five-game winning streak snapped on Sunday.
The Phoenix Suns (18-9 SU, 16-11 ATS, 9-16-2 O/U) have alternated wins and losses over their last six games and will be looking to record consecutive victories for the first time this month.
The Utah Jazz (16-11 SU, 15-12 ATS, 16-10-1 O/U) will be looking to regain the consistency they lost just after the month of December began. After winning seven of its previous eight games, the Jazz have hone just 5-4 over its last nine game while alternating wins and losses in each of their last five games overall.

NFL Point Spread:
The Atlanta Falcons, once a playoff threat, are on a two-game losing streak and are two games back of Dallas for the sixth seed in the NFC. But there are legitimate excuses to the Falcons unfortunate cold streak. Injuries to Matt Ryan and Michael Turner, their two biggest offensive stars, have sucked the life out of what was supposed to be a promising season.
The Dolphins lost their starting quarterback and starting running-back during the football betting season, but had depth in the wings with Chad Henne and Ricky Williams. The surging Dolphins clipped the Jaguars in the tail last weekend and now must push for a playoff spot by shattering the dreams of the Titans.
Games like this with a touchdown spread are seriously difficult to gage. I usually wait until the line dips a little lower for my liking but as long as this game is sitting underneath -8.0 in favor of the Eagles, I’m taking the Niners. San Francisco isn’t a great team, but they’re a sneaky team and a road team that can catch you off guard if you just think “Niners suck” and bet against them.
In their history against one another, the Patriots have been absurdly dominant against Buffalo. The Bills haven’t beaten New England in over five years, piling up a 0-10 SU record and a 3-7 ATS streak against the Pats.
Arizona Must Prove They Can Bounce Back Against Detroit
When the Cardinals lose, they lose badly. Committing seven turnovers against San Francisco is ungodly (sorry, Kurt) but the Cardinals remain in complete control of the NFC West.
Nobody’s touching this line right now because they have no idea what the St. Louis Rams are doing at quarterback. Kind of ironic that a one-win team is being led by a rookie with the last name “Null” but no matter who the Rams hand the reigns to is inconsequential. The Texans are a proven commodity on the road.
Vegas just loves the Steelers. A two-point advantage over the Packers is absolutely ridiculous. If anything, this game should be a pick ‘em.
BetUS NCAA Basketball Odds and Preview:
Neither of these teams has been dazzling lately. Notre Dame is 9-2 SU and is at the .500 mark in college basketball betting, but the Irish have played a lot of “gimme” games, and last Saturday they fell flat is losing to West Coast Conference lesser light Loyola Marymount at home, despite making ten three-pointers.
No two playoff contenders in the NFC are bewildering me more than New Orleans and Dallas. I’m actually pretty serious about this. While New Orleans is perfect, they’ve nearly lost to Washington, St. Louis and Chris Redman.
