NFL Betting – Super Bowl XLV Odds update

AFTER WEEK 2 GAMES – NFL Football betting fans sure are getting their money’s worth from the free nfl picks from Capperspicks.com.

With two weeks in the books, NFL teams have played an eighth of their schedule. How have the Super Bowl betting futures been affected early on? Let’s look at three key risers, three key fallers and three teams standing pat in their odds right now.

RISERS

Green Bay Packers

Super Bowl odds: +825

The Packers were already roughly a top-five Super Bowl contender entering the season but they now share the best overall odds with the defending champion New Orleans Saints. They won a tough road game in Philadelphia, they hammered Buffalo and their offense might be football’s best.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Super Bowl odds: +1215

Imagine if I told you two weeks ago that the Steelers would have better Super Bowl odds than Minnesota or Dallas by now? Pittsburgh hasn’t had Big Ben Roethlisberger but too many of us took their stellar defense and improved rushing attack for granted. They could easily be 3-1 when Ben takes over again.

Houston Texans

Super Bowl odds: +2050

For years, the Texans have been a talented team with a choking problem and just a few important pieces missing. But Arian Foster’s emergence in the running game has made a big difference; Houston finally conquered its demons against the Colts. And Brian Cushing returns to the linebacker corps in two weeks.

FALLERS

Minnesota Vikings

Super Bowl odds: +3050

The +3050 odds are not a misprint. The Vikings had top-three or five odds in most books earlier this month but oddsmakers are spooked by how old Brett Favre finally looks.

Dallas Cowboys

Super Bowl odds: +1415

The Cowboys are down but not necessarily out. There’s still room for redemption if they can come up with a big road victory at Houston this weekend. Tony Romo still looks good enough; it’s the running game and defense that need to step up.

San Francisco 49ers

Super Bowl odds: +3550

From Alex Smith receiving the plays too late to Michael Crabtree being a diva to Mike Singletary’s rants, the 49ers just can’t do anything right at the moment. Still, it’s the woeful NFC West, so a rebound could happen.

STANDING PAT

New Orleans Saints

Super Bowl odds: +825

The Saints haven’t been absolutely perfect but their two victories were telling. Whenever Drew Brees really needed to drive down the field, he did it. And you just knew he would. These guys are winners, plain and simple.

Indianapolis Colts

Super Bowl odds: +925

The Week 1 loss to Houston didn’t scare oddsmakers off – nor should it have. So the Colts’ run defense is a bit soft. What else is new? Peyton Manning and their great defensive ends are still the pillars. You know the Colts will be a contender again.

San Diego Chargers

Super Bowl odds: +1015

Here’s another team whose futures didn’t really dip despite a Week 1 loss. They got a mulligan because of the horrible weather when they visited Kansas City. Last week’s romp over Jacksonville was more like it and the Chargers should keep powering through their easy schedule.
