NFL Betting – Super Bowl Futures Odds Update

NFL Football betting fans sure are getting their money’s worth from the free nfl picks from Capperspicks.com.

In the betting community, many sharps will argue that now’s the time to make your Super Bowl futures bet. The field is narrowed to 12 teams, giving you solid odds, but it’s still big enough that you can cash in on value.

Think about the nice payday the Giants would’ve given you two years ago.

Here’s a breakdown of the Final 12.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (+285)

No team has a cushier path to Super Bowl XLIV. Going 14-2 shored up home-field advantage for the playoffs, meaning that Peyton Manning and company get two comfy, indoor home matchups as their path to the big dance. That’s promising regardless of their opponents.

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (+385)

No AFC team enters the playoffs with more momentum. The Chargers can score and their stud quarterback, Phil Rivers, has a great rapport with his towering receivers. But can these guys win in warm weather?

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (+425)

They stumbled down the stretch but that can happen when you lock up a division weeks in advance. The Saints still have the league’s top offense, a ball-hawk defense and a raucous crowd atmosphere. They’ll be tough to beat.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS (+585)

The Vikes looked mortal late in the season but reminded us last week that they’re arguably the NFC’s most talented team on both sides of the ball. Great passing game, great rushing attack, great run defense…but their pass “D” is a chink in the armor against the NFC’s great quarterbacks.

DALLAS COWBOYS (+805)

They’re the NFC’s answer to the Chargers in that (a) They were hot down the stretch and (b) their recent playoff history suggests they’ll choke. Dallas is a sneaky bet, as Tony Romo seems to have turned a corner; too bad America’s Team doesn’t offer good underdog value at the sportsbook.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (+1015)

Here’s the sucker’s bet. The Pats dynasty is crumbling before our eyes. Brady is still the man but he can’t win games on his own; the “D” can’t stop elite offenses.

GREEN BAY PACKERS (+1415)

If not for their woes against the Vikings, the Pack would be very popular sleepers. Even so, there’s plenty to like, as they have the NFC’s top defense and a true game-breaker in Aaron Rodgers.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (+1615)

Given the huge support they drew at the sportsbook before the season started, you could do worse than the Eagles. They’re experienced and aggressive pass rushers and DeSean Jackson gives them major big-play ability. Still, their NFC playoff peers do everything they do and more.

ARIZONA CARDINALS (+2250)

Naturally, this is the bet we wish we made last season. This year, the Cards may be a trap. They still don’t run the ball well enough to control the possession game and they’re banged up on both sides of the ball.

BALTIMORE RAVENS (+3050)

Am I crazy to label the Ravens a fun sleeper pick? They have the No. 3 defense in football, an amazing dual-threat back in Ray Rice, a field-stretching pivot in Joe Flacco…the pieces are there to compete with anyone.

CINCINNATI BENGALS (+4050)

They may win this week but they lost three of their final four games and haven’t won a playoff game since George Bush Sr. was runnin’ America. Don’t waste a bet on them.

NEW YORK JETS (+4050)

According to Rex Ryan and Bart Scott, this is the team to pick. No one else agrees. It doesn’t matter that they have the NFL’s top defense and rushing offense. They also have Mark Sanchez, the first-ever rookie quarterback to throw 20 picks and reach the playoffs. Enough said.

One reply on “2010 Super Bowl Lines: NFL Championship Future Odds”

I lost the Eagles from the NFC so I’m throwing my money on New Orleans and I’m sticking with San Diego from the AFC.

Minnesota will not lose to Dallas at home and they cannot win on the road, so all the Saints have to do is get past whoever wins the Green Bay-Arizona game.

San Diego has Indianapolis’s number as they have no fear about going on the road to win the AFC.
