NFL Betting – Super Bowl Futures Odds Update

NFL Football betting fans sure are getting their money’s worth from the free nfl picks from Capperspicks.com.

And then there were four.

It’s conference championship week in the NFL and only a quartet of teams remains, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to bet on Super Bowl futures. In fact, some sharps prefer to pick from a small field of teams, increasing their odds. Let’s check in with the Final Four to see who has the best shot to win Super Bowl XLIV according to the sportsbooks.

Here’s a breakdown of the Final 4.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (+115)

They’ve been as close to perfection as we’ve seen this season and their dominant 20-3 victory over Baltimore last week – the same Baltimore that crushed New England the week before – suggests they’re not going anywhere soon. The Colts are strange in that they’re an undeniably flawed team; they don’t run the ball or stop the run very well at all. But it doesn’t seem to matter. Peyton Manning never gets hit and he picks teams apart on that cushy carpet at Lucas Oil Stadium. Home field advantage is being kind to Indy.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (+215)

The Saints certainly didn’t lose any Super Bowl supporters last week. They absolutely dominated Arizona and it seems almost no team can hang with their offense. Unless you count their opponent this week; Minnesota finished second to New Orleans in points scored this season. The Saints wouldn’t surprise anyone by winning at all but their defense has to play better – especially against the run.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS (+415)

You could do a lot worse than picking Minnesota, which has the third best odds but is arguably just as good as Indy and New Orleans. The Saints have a great passing game as long as Brett Favre continues to defy age, a great rushing attack in theory (Earth to Adrian Peterson! Hello?) and a superior defense to the Colts and Saints. That’s worth something.

NEW YORK JETS (+725)

Well, as the cliché goes, “Offense wins games; defense wins championships.” By that logic, we can’t rule out the smashmouth New York Jets. After all, these guys have the NFL’s top overall defense. Darrelle Revis is ready for Reggie Wayne, Sidney Rice and Marques Colston. On paper, the Chargers still found a way to pass against the Jets, but that was because they didn’t throw at the phenomenal Revis. The Jets also have a great running game featuring Thomas Jones and Shonn Green, who is hitting his stride at the right time. In the end, the Jets are a major risk simply because they’ll have to get more from rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez at some point. Picking them is certainly taking a flier but hey – the 2000 Baltimore Ravens won it all with Trent Dilfer taking snaps.
