Let’s try a few.

WHO WILL SCORE THE GAME’S FIRST TOUCHDOWN?

Rashard Mendenhall +500
Greg Jennings +600
James Starks +650
Mike Wallace +650
Donald Driver +1000
Hines Ward +1000
Heath Miller +1200
Jordy Nelson +1200
James Jones +1200
Aaron Rodgers +1500
Ben Roethlisberger +1800

I don’t list all the possible names here. Picking “field” could be tempting at some books — especially if no defensive players are included, as you never know when Troy Polamalu or Tramon Williams could house an interception. Since I think the Steelers are likely to start quicker and smoother, I like them to score first, maybe with Big Ben calling his own number. Pick: Ben Roethlisberger +1800

WHO WILL WIN THE SUPER BOWL MVP AWARD?

Aaron Rodgers +130
Ben Roethlisberger +325
Rashard Mendenhall +650
Greg Jennings +1200
Troy Polamalu +1200
Mike Wallace +1500
James Starks +1500
Clay Matthews +2000
Hines Ward +2000
James Harrison +2000
Donald Driver +2000

I could list a bunch more names, but we’ll go with those for now. To me, the big storyline could be the Packers’ pass rush penetrating Pittsburgh’s banged-up offensive line and forcing Big Ben to make mistakes. For that reason, I see Clay Matthews having a monster game, with a sack or two and a forced fumble. I like him as an underdog pick to go to Disneyland. Pick: Clay Matthews +2000

RODGERS VS ROETHLISBERGER – MOST PASSING YARDS

Aaron Rodgers -30.5 passing yards (+105)
Ben Roethlisberger +30.5 passing yards (-135)

Even though Rodgers has had the better season and Green Bay has the better pass defense – I like Big Ben to stay within 30 passing yards of him. According to my projection of a Green Bay victory, the Steelers will have to play catchup in the second half, meaning Ben could rack up yards. Pick: Roethlisberger +30.5

MENDENHALL VS STARKS – MOST RUSHING/RECEIVING YARDS

Rashard Mendenhall -32.5 rushing/receiving yards (+120)
James Starks +32.5 rushing/receiving yards (-150)

We don’t have to worry much about the receiving yards here, as neither Mendenhall nor Starks factors into the passing game much. Even though Pittsburgh may throw later in the game and the Pack will want to kill clock and run if they’re winning, I still like Mendenhall to best Starks by33 or more yards. The Pack should struggle to run on the league’s top run defense. Meanwhile, Mendenhall topped 100 yards on a good Jets run “D” two weeks ago and faces an inferior Packers unit. Pick: Mendenhall -32.5

WALLACE VS JENNINGS – MOST RECEIVING YARDS

Mike Wallace +17.5 receiving yards (-125)
Greg Jennings -17.5 receiving yards (-105)

Mike Wallace is the AFC’s deadliest deep threat and will be the fastest, most dynamic offensive player on the field this Sunday. However, he hasn’t proven that he can play in big games against tough defenses yet. He caught three passes for 20 yards against Baltimore; he caught one pass for six yards against the New York Jets. Facing some combination of Charles Woodson, Tramon Williams, Nick Collins and Sam Shields, life doesn’t get any easier for Wallace this week. Big Ben may turn to his tough, battle-hardened options like Hines Ward or Heath Miller in a pinch. So I like Greg Jennings to have the bigger game. Pick: Jennings -17.5
