Super Bowl – Early Lines and Analysis

So the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers proved best in the NFL Conference Championships on Sunday and now will face each other on February 1st in the biggest sporting event in the United States, the Super Bowl.

Sports betting fans have to appreciate how the Cardinals beat the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles as online betting underdogs. They beat the Falcons and the Panthers on the road.

But NFL betting fans also have to respect how the Pittsburgh Steelers have covered the BetUS online wagering spread in their two playoff games this season. They looked like goners this past Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens but Troy Polamalu came up with a brilliant interception and run back to ensure a Pittsburgh victory straight-up and against the BetUS online wagering spread.

Let’s take a sneak peek at the online betting lines that the BetUS online sportsbook odds makers have set for this year’s Super Bowl to see if we can glean any real information about what might happen.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Arizona Cardinals

BetUS Against the Spread Odds: Steelers -6 ½
BetUS Total: 47

First Analysis: Both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals are underdogs in the sense that neither one of these teams was all that great against the BetUS online sportsbook betting odds this season. The Steelers’ record against the spread was only 11-7, counting the two playoff victories, even though they were 12 and 4 straight-up during the regular season and now 14 and 4 straight-up overall.

The Arizona Cardinals’ record against the spread counting their three playoff victories is only 12 and 7. The Cardinals’ record against the BetUS online wagering spread actually mirrors their record straight-up as Arizona is 12 and 7 straight-up as well.

So to me the BetUS odds makers, by making the Steelers -6 ½ favorites are merely stating that, yes, the Steelers are the better team but when it comes to the spread they don’t have a good record covering. Pittsburgh’s dominance the past two weeks should have garnered at least a -7 ½ points favoritism in the online sportsbook.

The BetUS Total at this point is actually a more interesting online bet to analyze. The Arizona Cardinals have scored 30, 33 and 32 points in their last 3 games. The Pittsburgh Steelers have scored 31, 35 and 23 in their last 3 games.

By setting the BetUS Total line at only 47 points, the BetUS online sportsbook odds makers are saying that they believe the Steelers have enough on defense to stop the Cardinals amazing offense. They also believe that the Steelers’ offense might be somewhat overrated by online sportsbook betting fans.

I’m expecting this online betting lint to change dramatically. I see both of these teams putting up between 24 to 30 points in this game.

In fact, BetUS online sportsbook NFL betting fans should think about betting the over in the BetUS Total today. If there is a flaw in the line, and I believe some big time online betting fans will no doubt think so, there could be a major shift in the total in just this week.

I’d be over the BetUS Total at this point and then wait to see the change in the against the spread line.
