NCAAF: TEXAS TECH STILL NOT GETTING RESPECT

The Texas Tech Red Raiders have taken on all comers this year and remain unbeaten, but they’re still solid dogs against the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Red Raiders rank second in the BCS Standings after impressive wins over Texas and Oklahoma State, but they’re getting 6 ½-points for this momentous Saturday night showdown in Norman, Oklahoma.

The one thing you can expect in this game is offensive fireworks as these are two of the Top 4 offenses in the country.

Texas Tech has the top-rated passing attack with Heisman Trophy co-favorite Graham Harrell (3:2 odds). They proved they can’t be stopped even by good defenses when they rolled up 95 total points on Texas and Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma has been downright scary the last three games, averaging 62 PPG with two of those coming on the road at Kansas State and Texas A&M. Sooners quarterback Sam Bradford is the other Heisman co-favorite and the winner of the game could bring home the hardware.

If Texas Tech wins, a Big 12 title and a national championship bid are likely. If Oklahoma wins, there will be a three-way tie in the Big 12 South between Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech with the winner determined by BCS ranking.

Another game having conference title implications is #8 Penn State giving a hefty 14 ½-points at home against #15 Michigan State. The Nittany Lions are still disappointed about losing their national title hopes at Iowa two weeks ago, but a Big Ten title and a Rose Bowl berth are good consolation prizes.

Undefeated, #7 Utah can win the Mountain West Conference and possibly earn a BCS Bowl berth if they beat #14 BYU as 6 ½-point home chalk. Note that BYU is just 3-7 against the spread this year despite being 10-1 straight up.

Surprising #19 Cincinnati has the inside track on the Big East championship. All they have to do is beat #20 Pittsburgh this week and cupcake Syracuse in their conference finale. The Bearcats are 4 ½-point home favorites over the Panthers who have beat them straight up and ATS the last three seasons.

Oregon State, ranked #21, is two wins away from winning the Pac-10 title, but they’re getting three-points at Arizona this week. The Beavers lost three of their first five games, but their shocking upset over USC in September, and only one Pac-10 loss, puts them in this great position.

There are also two good games earlier in the week. It starts with undefeated and #17 Ball State as seven-point favorites at a very good Central Michigan team.

Thursday night has #23 Miami as four-point dogs at Georgia Tech. The Hurricanes are riding a five-game winning streak and they will be in the ACC title game with a win here and next week at NC State.
