Cruz (17-1-0) heads into the bout as a {{1.833}} favourite at Pinnacle Sports against Faber (25-4-0), who’s on the board as a short {{2.090}} underdog.
This is a rematch of their meeting at WEC 26 in March of 2007, when Faber submitted Cruz by guillotine choke in the first round to hand the 5-foot-8, 135-pounder the only defeat of his career.
This is also Cruz’s first fight in the UFC. Cruz has won eight straight bouts since falling to Faber, and is coming off a unanimous-decision win over Scott Jorgensen at WEC 53 last December when he retained that promotion’s title.
Faber enters the UFC Octagon for the second time at the MGM Grand, and he’s looking for a more impressive performance than he put up in his last fight. The California Kid got past Eddie Wineland by unanimous decision at UFC 128 in March.
Overall, Faber is 4-3-0 in his last seven fights, although he hasn’t had two consecutive victories since dropping a unanimous decision to Jose Aldo at WEC 48 last April.

Also on the main card at UFC 132, MMA veteran Wanderei Silva (33-10-1) gets into the cage against Chris Leben (25-7-0) in a middleweight attraction.
