David Schwab weighs in with a short online sportsbook preview for the 2010 Superbowl and looks at the myriad of online gambling options for New Orleans Saints super bowl betting odds with lines used from Bookmaker.com…

New Orleans Saints Super Bowl Odds

The Super Bowl is the most heavily bet sporting event in the world. The main reason for this, besides the overwhelming popularity of the game is the fact that there are a multitude of potential outcomes you can place a wager on.

Saints ATS: -5

This line has bounced around a bit going as high as six but it has seemed to settle in at five across the board.

Saints Money Line: -180 (Bookmaker.com)

This has come down a bit as well, although there are still some lines out there as high as +185.

Saints 1st Half Line: +3 (-105) (Bookmaker.com)

This line is pretty consistent across the board at +3 with the money line ranging from -105 to -115.

Some of the various proposition bets concerning the Saints Super Bowl Odds include the following:

Saints over/under for total points: 25.5 (-115)

The total line for the game is currently at 56.5, so if you like the Saints to win outright or at the very least cover the spread, the over bet might be a good play.

Saints win the coin toss: -105

This is a straight out 50/50 bet, just like picking odd or even on a roulette spin. There is no advantage either way, however if you must have an edge, the NFC is 29-14 all time and has won the last 12 calls in a row.

Saints score last in the 1st half: +110

The Saints were very good at adding points at the end of the half in the regular season, but so were the Colts. The odds favor Indianapolis, but a small wager on New Orleans would be a solid play in my book.

Saints total first downs: over/under 21.5 (-115)

The Saints averaged 21.75 in the regular season and 21 in the postseason. The Colts gave up an average of 20 first downs a game in the regular season and 14.5 in the postseason. Based solely on these numbers, I would lean toward the under.

There are literally dozens of other Saints Super Bowl odds for prop bets that involve the team as a whole or individual player’s performances.

It basically comes down to if you can put a numerical result to it, you can place a bet on it.

Good luck with all of your picks and enjoy the game.
