NFL: BILLS NEED HOME COOKING

The Buffalo Bills are fading fast with a three game losing streak but they’re still solid home favorites over the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football.

This AFC showdown starts at 8:30 pm ET game on ESPN and it’s a great chance to see one of the most talked about young quarterbacks in the league, Brady Quinn. The Bills are five-point favorites, and 58% of the betting public them.

Buffalo (5-4) was 5-1 three weeks ago and looking like the class of the AFC East. They have since blown a game in Miami, lost to the Jets at home, and then had another defeat at New England last week. All of this is a familiar cry to Bills’ fans, that have seen their club start strong in the past, only to fade down the stretch.

In order for Buffalo to rebound, quarterback Trent Edwards needs to get his swagger back. He has really struggled the last three weeks with five interceptions after only having two in the first five games. Marshawn Lynch should have success against the Browns 26th ranked run defense even though the offensive line is struggling right now.

Being at home is a big help to Buffalo. The Bills had won three straight there to start the year before the Jets’ game. The Bills fans are some of the best in football and they know how to make a young quarterback like Quinn very uncomfortable.

Cleveland (3-6) is one of the more maddening teams in the league. They blew a 14-point lead to Baltimore two weeks ago, and blew a 13-point lead to Denver last week, losing in the last two minutes.

The best news for the franchise is Quinn acquitted himself nicely in his first NFL start, throwing for 239 yards, two touchdowns and no picks. His quarterback rating was also an impressive 104.

Having wide receiver Donte Stallworth healthy was a factor for the success of the passing game. Stallworth only had four receptions for 48 yards but his speed on the outside helps open up the middle, and that was a key behind Kellen Winslow’s 10 receptions. Quinn does need to look for Braylon Edwards more who only had one catch.

What the Browns can’t do is let the other teams’ passing game go totally crazy. Denver’s Jay Cutler had an embarrassing 447 yards through the air. Fortunately, Buffalo doesn’t have an explosive passing game like Denver.

Cleveland has played better on the road this year (2-2 straight-up, 3-1 ATS)than at home. Overall, it looks like Cleveland should be able to keep this game close as long as Quinn keeps his cool and limits his turnovers.

In addition to the game and Total wagering, we also have our Primetime Prop for this contest. If you back the winning selection for the “Total Points Scored” prop in the this game and either team wins by double digit points, winning bets will be doubled up to $100.00 for this specific prop.

We also have plenty of props like whether Lynch will rush for more than 77.5 yards. The Player to score the 1st TDis also interesting with Lynch again leading the way at 5:1. He Edwards and Jamal Lewis are the Browns’ favorites at 7:1 each.
