Texas is undefeated all-time against the Crimson Tide, with seven wins and one tie in eight head-to-head matchups going back to 1902.
But the Crimson Tide are favored to get their first-ever win against the Longhorns, as they are 4-point favorites in BCS National Championship Odds.
betED.com also has the Tide as -175 moneyline favorites and the over/under at 45.5 in NCAAF Lines.
The history between these programs goes back 108 years, when Texas won the first matchup 10-0 on Nov. 11, 1902 at Tuscaloosa.
Texas is 4-0-1 in five bowl meetings with Alabama, the first one coming in the 1948 Sugar Bowl, a 27-7 Longhorns’ victory.
The rare tie came in the old Bluebonnet Bowl, when the teams ended up deadlocked in 1960.
The last time they met, the Longhorns won 14-12 in the 1982 Cotton Bowl.
Texas (13-0 SU, 5-7-1 ATS) last played in the Big 12 Conference Championship game on Dec. 5, beating the Nebraska Cornhuskers 13-12. Texas failed to cover the 14-point spread and the score went well under the total of 47.
Alabama (13-0 SU, 8-5 ATS) beat the then-No. 1 Florida Gators 32-13 in the SEC championship game at the Georgia Dome in Week 14.
Alabama covered as a 5.5-point underdog in that contest, while the final score played over the 41-point total.

These are the two best teams in the country as their rosters read like an all star team. Having watched both these teams all year long, I have to lean towards Alabama on the strength of their defense. Texas struggled against Nebraska and the Tide are much better than that.
