Sports Parlay Gambling Anyone? April 17th Edition

Mr. Poolside rants brings you a sports betting weekend parlay to spice up your life and online sportsbook account. Included are bets on NBA, and NHL playoffs, plus a MLB game tomorrow and UFC 97 main event odds to bet on…

The Weekend Parlay – Mix and Match To the Money

While straight online betting is slow and steady, it’s also kind of boring. Take off your glasses, loosen your belt and pop that collar up as we have some fun. With a cocktail of MLB, NHL and NBA and UFC 97 betting, we’ve got a weekend parlay to spice up your life and account.

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Detroit Red Wings – Saturday, April 17

NHL odds: Red Wings -1.5 -105

Game 2 of this Western Conference quarterfinal kicks off on Saturday and, while the price tag for the Detroit Red Wings moneyline is high, laying a goal-and-a-half allows for a cheaper buy-in.

The Columbus Blue Jackets just can’t generate any offense. They had just 14 shots in the last 53 minutes of Thursday’s game including just two in the third period. On top of that, the Blue Jackets’ league-worst power play went 0-for-5. They’ll set up their effort in Game 2 but so will the Red Wings.

Pick: Red Wings -1.5 -105

Detroit Pistons @ Cleveland Cavaliers – Saturday, April 17th

NBA odds: Cavaliers -12

The Detroit Red Wings will get all of the Michigan attention on Saturday as just about nobody believes in the Detroit Pistons this year. The Cavaliers won’t overlook the Pistons, though, since that’s the team that ruined so many Cavaliers playoff dreams in the past.

The Pistons are a risky team to bet on. They are a group of veterans who know what it takes to win and they know they can’t win this series. They also know that Rasheed Wallace and Allen Iverson are gone as soon as the Cavaliers hit win number four in this series.

The Pistons might mail this game – and series – in.

Pick: Cavaliers -12

Oakland Athletics @ Toronto Blue Jays – Saturday, April 17th

MLB odds: No Line

The Toronto Blue Jays host the Oakland Athletics this weekend and it’s hard to bet against the Jays at this point. They are the hottest team in the league and have been knocking the cover off the ball. Brian Tallet, who normally pitches out of the bullpen, will get his first start of the season as Jesse Litsch is out and ailing. The A’s are batting just .194 against Tallet over the last three seasons.

It hasn’t mattered who has been on the mound to this point in the season and look for that to continue on Saturday as the Jays win a high-scoring affair.

Pick: Jays

Anderson Silva vs Thales Leites – Saturday, April 17th

UFC 97 odds: Silva -600

In every parlay, you throw in your risky plays and you throw in your safe plays. This is the latter.

Anderson Silva is going to destroy Thales Leites, who probably doesn’t even deserve a title shot. Silva was very disappointed with his own performance in his last fight, in which he was tentative to make a move.

Leites’ best chance is that Silva is once again half asleep and disinterested. Don’t count on that as the UFC’s best pound-for-pound fighter should easily dominate again.

Pick: Silva -600

If you love betting on NBA playoff games, the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Major League Baseball, & UFC events, you’ve found a new home.
