NFL news: NFL/NFLPA Meeting Today – End Of The Lockout Near?
Could a new CBA arrive in time for NFL training camp? On Tuesday, the league and the players’ association met for the third time this month. Reports suggest a deal could be struck between the two sides within two to four weeks.
According to CBS Sports, negotiations have reached “advanced stages” and could be 80 to 85 per cent complete.
The sides will continue talking today.
Leonard Pope rescues drowning boy
Kansas City Chiefs tight end rescued a drowning boy from a swimming pool on Saturday. Pope was at a party and the only person there who knew how to swim (really?). He jumped into the pool fully clothed to rescue the six-year-old, who is the son of his longtime friend.
Pope said he knew he had to do something and that he hopes someone would do the same for his children in that situation.
Chris Owens investigated by police
Atlanta Falcons cornerback Chris Owens is under police investigation for allegedly destroying his ex-girlfriend’s apartment on Saturday. Reportedly, he entered LaTia Terry’s home when she and their son weren’t there. He allegedly smashed holes in the walls, broke electronics and covered her clothing, jewelry and shoes with bleach. The two were in a custody battle over their infant child.
