NFL news: David Tyree says same-sex marriage will lead to “anarchy”
David Tyree will always be remembered for his circus catch to help the New York Giants win Super Bowl XLII.
But, now, he’ll also be remembered for his controversial opinion on same-sex marriage.
After his former teammate, defensive end Michael Strahan, spoke out in support of marriage equality, Tyree went the other way.
“We believe everyone should have the right to get married.” – Strahan
“What I know will happen if [same-sex marriage] does come forth is this will be the beginning of our country sliding toward, it is a strong word, but anarchy,” he recently said in a video for the National Organization for Marriage. – David Tyree
Tyree’s video also came shortly after Steve Tisch, Giants chairman and executive vice president, came out in favor of same-sex marriage. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
