NBA news: Gambling in the NBA…Oh And Arenas Is A Moron
We learned today that the Washington Wizards’ star Gilbert Arenas plead guilty to the gun charge. (a felony charge of carrying a pistol without a license in the District of Columbia.)
The 3-time NBA All-Star acknowledged he stored 4 guns in his locker at the Verizon Center. Smooooooth move Gilbert. He missed the memo that possessing a gun at an NBA arena violates the league’s collective bargaining agreement.
Here what he could get…”prosecutors agreed to seek a sentence at the low end of the guidelines, which is no more than six months in jail.” (According to the USA Today)
I’m just not sure where we go from here. I mean what happens to Arenas on July 1st of this year? Will he become the pick of the free-agent litter after LeBron, Boozer, Bosh and Wade or off the board. Queue the 2010 NBA free agent madness.
It is even possible that Arenas would attempt to mend his relationship with the Wizards. I for one just can’t see the Wizards trying to fix this major pain in the ass. Where does it end?
