At 2-0-0, the Dutch have plowed their way through to the Round of 16.

Their matchup Thursday against Cameroon is meaningless since winless and tieless Cameroon can do nothing to advance, playing for nothing but national pride.

The only two previous matches between Cameroon and Netherlands produced just one goal–0-0 in 1998 and a 1-0 win for the Netherlands in 2006. World Cup Betting

Cameroon was eliminated after a 2-1 defeat against Denmark. Cameroon needed a win to stay in the race to qualify after losing their opening group game.

They took the lead when Samuel Eto was the first to score when a pass by Christian Poulsen allowed Pierre Webo to pounce as he charged down the left wing and kicked to Eto. He fired a low shot past Thomas Sorensen. Denmark began to assert itself and took control from the 20-minute mark.

The Danes raced into the lead again when Bendtner’s cross-field pass found Rommedahl, who easily curled a shot into the bottom corner past Hamidou.

Despite many near goals due to mental miscues, Denmark held on to win, essentially ending the Cameroonians run.

While the play has been ugly, the results have been pretty, as the Netherlands became the first side to qualify for the knockout phase with wins over Denmark and Japan.

There have been questions about a ‘missing link’ for the Dutch team, hinting that winger Arjen Robben is that piece.

While not fully recuperated he seems ready to play against Cameroon on Thursday. Coming off the best season of his career with Bayern Munich, he injured his hamstring June 5th in a warm up.

With him back on the field, respect a return to full form for the Netherlands, a difference maker for an already successful team.

There is of course still pride to play for Cameroon, and they are likely to epitomize just that while the Dutch may decide to rest key players and sideline others to avoid injury in a match that has no bearing on their advancement.

This makes this game a tricky betting proposition. Any complacency on the part of the Dutch, however, could be punishable by Samuel Eto’o and Co.

However, even missing a few key players; the Oranje should win this one by a one-goal margin.
