Many though they would advance to the knockout stage even though they were tournament rookies but their play has been uninspired.
The question is whether they can rise above disapointment to grab a victory in what is a meaningless game. This team was supposed to have some offense but so far we have not seen it.
This is likely to be a low scoring affair. Bosnia has only scored one goal in two games and Iran is known for their defense.
Bosnia has some scoring talent and if they can get on the board first it will be tough for the Iranians to counter. The key to this one is getting off to a good start.

Not much was expected of Iran in Brazil so the fact that they have a draw has been a pretty good showing so far.
They also held a powerful Argentina squad to just a single goal which is a sort of victory in itself. This is aa team that really limits scoring and plays for the occasional set piece or free kick scoring chance and hope for the best.
Bosnia is not Argentina but they should be able to press Iran. The amazing thing is that Iran has proven to have a pretty formidable defense and is content playing in their own end.
Before the tournament started Iran would have been a much larger favourite but their play and the struggles of Bosnia have brought this one down a fair bit.
They need to get a win to have a hope of advancing so it will be interesting to see if that means they abandon their usual style at all.
If they do I am not sure they can bean Bosnia in a game exchanging scoring chances. If they don’t they might lose anyway.
I think Iran will push for the victory but this team is really limited offensively and it will show. They may create some more chances in this one but their ability to convert will be low and it will open up opportunities for their opponents.
Bosnia will convert and then salt the game away, a small victory getting their first World Cup win.
