Jason Green weighs in with his La Liga 2011 futures betting article on Real Madrid. Real Madrid has stability this season and with the authority that head coach Jorge Valdano brings and the club, which has not changed much from last season, the sky is the limit for the soccer giant…

La Liga – Real Madrid 2011 Preview

Last season Real Madrid came in 2nd in La Liga and made it to the Champions League semifinals, but the big question for them this season is can they beat Barcelona?

2011 La Liga Futures

Odds to win Spain’s La Liga: Even
Odds to win Champions League: +450

Barcelona won La Liga and the Champions League last season, beating Real Madrid in the semifinals, but at least Real took some confidence last season beating Barca in the Copa del Rey.

2011 Real Madrid Betting Preview

Head coach Jose Mourinho is in his 2nd year at the helm of Real Madrid and anything less than the La Liga title will be a disappointment.

Unlike the last few seasons Real Madrid did not break the bank to bring in any huge stars, but they still paid the most expensive transfer fee in Spain spending 30 million Euros to snag defender Fábio Coentrão from Benfica as well as 10 million to get defender Raphael Varane from Lens and midfielder Nuri Sahin from Dortmund.

Real Madrid has the club to win it all, but can they do it?

Cristiano Ronaldo led La Liga in goals last season and Karim Benzema was in the top 10 in the league in goal scorers, but the offense was not the problem for Real last season. The defense should be better this season with the new signings and G Iker Casillas must play like he did in Spain’s World Cup run last year. Casillas had an up and down season and his play will be key for Real Madrid this season.

MF Kaka had an injury-marred season and his health will also be key this season. The club has confidence, especially with the Copa del Rey win last season, but Barcelona will, once again, be a thorn in their side this season. [ad-3678122]

Real Madrid has stability this season and with the authority that head coach Jorge Valdano brings and the club, which has not changed much from last season, the sky is the limit for the soccer giant. Another key for Real is their play at home, as last season they played to a 1-1 draw hosting Barcelona and lost 2 out of their last 5 home matches, which cost them a shot at the La Liga title.

MF Xabi Alonso was the main creator in the midfield for Real last season and with the signing of Nuri Sahin the club should have more scoring chances from the midfield. Kaka has to get back to the form, which made him one of the best players in the world a couple years back.

The stretch of matches before Christmas break may be the make or break part of the season for Real Madrid, as they face Valencia, Atletico, Sporting Gijon, Barcelona and Sevilla. The match against Barcelona is at home and it is crucial that they beat the league champions in that fixture to give them a better shot at winning the league.

Barcelona is stacked again and La Liga will likely be a 2 horse race between Barca and Real Madrid.

2011 Real Madrid Prediction

Real Madrid has the stars of Ronaldo, Kaka, Alonso, Benzema, and Casillas, but they have to get by Barcelona, which is a tall task this season.

Still, there is a reason Real is at Even to win the Spanish league and they will likely battle with Barcelona all season long for the title.
