Week 13 Spreads: Jets vs. Bills In Canada

Divisional bragging rights will be on the line on Thursday when the N.Y. Jets and the Buffalo Bills meet at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada. Oddsmakers currently have the Jets listed as 3-point favorites…

NFL Thursday – New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills

NFL Point Spread: Jets -3, O/U: 37
Thursday, December 3rd
Rogers Centre, Toronto, Canada – 8:20 PM ET

Both the Jets and the Bills injected some life into their sluggish and unsatisfying seasons on Sunday, posting ugly but entirely effective wins over turnover-prone opponents. The Jets plucked four interceptions from Jake “Santa Claus” Delhomme – one of them a pick-six – to turn back the Carolina Panthers, 17-6. The Bills – under their new coach, interim boss and former defensive coordinator Perry Fewell – grabbed four interceptions from Miami quarterback Chad Henne to race past the Dolphins, 31-14.

Three of Buffalo’s four takeaways occurred in the final 3:35 of regulation, as the Bills scored 17 points in the final minutes. Fewell reveled in the final flourish, which began when kicker Rian Lindell hit a 56-yard field goal to give his team a 17-14 lead.

NFL Handicapping: What The Jets Have To Do To Win

We could try to be creative and interesting with each of these teams’ game keys, but it’s pointless to do so. The Jets have to protect the ball and take it away from the Bills. Coach Rex Ryan’s team has a painfully bad quarterback right now in Mark Sanchez. The Jets’ offense scored only 10 points against Carolina, when you factor in the pick-six against Jake Delhomme. If Sanchez can avoid turnovers and entrust this game to his defense, New York has a shot. If the Jets hand the Bills the turnovers Chad Henne gave to them this past Sunday, they’ll be in trouble. NFL Handicapping: What The Bills Have To Do To Win

The calculus is no different for Perry Fewell’s team when it travels north of the border for what is technically a designated home game. The Bills can’t give the Jets the free points Carolina provided. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick committed only one turnover (an interception) against Miami last Sunday, and as a result, the Bills stayed in contention and were able to benefit when the Dolphins hemorrhaged in the fourth quarter. This is not going to be a shootout, to say the least. The team that wins the turnover battle, or – if that’s even – gets more high-impact turnovers that either score directly or create red zone opportunities is highly likely to win.

NFL Handicapping: Outlook & Pick

The Jets were hardly inspiring on home turf in their most recent game, while the Bills – unexceptional for 55 minutes – looked very impressive in the final five minutes of regulation time in their win over Miami. Fewell has the Buffalo locker room excited, and Terrell Owens – who caught a 51-yard touchdown pass late in the Miami victory – actually smiled a little bit after that game. It seems that the Bills have a happier and more positive team. Sounds like a reason to take them in what should be an ugly affair.

NFL Point Spread Pick: Bills +3

NFL Prop Betting: Team To Score First & Score In First Six Minutes

The only way an early score is created in this game is if an interception is taken to the house, or very close to it. As long as these teams try to establish the running game early on, there shouldn’t be points scored until late in the first quarter (at best).

I’ve been following all of your “Free Picks” and I must say, “MATT FARGO” is “Da Man!” I’ve been keeping records on every free pick from different sites since the season started and been doing it now for 2 years. If my memory serve’s me right, Matt was okay last year and Black Widow was doing really well. But, this year, I don’t think anyone has been as “GREAT!” as Matt Fargo! I’m not a big gambler like a lot of other’s that sign up with you folks, but I do like to put a few dollars down to watch a game and make it interesting. I mostly play “Parly” and yeah I know, that’s the sucker bets and it’s best to bet straight up. But, this year, I’ve down better that most years!!
I’ve at least hit some 3tm and 4 tm P’s. The house over here on the Haw’n Islands, is not as good as Vegas. The house that I play with is 6/5 for straight bets, not like 10/11 in Vegas. But, that’s okay. I really enjoy ready all the technical things that all of you have about the teams that will be playing and I’m so amazed at how “Close” the line is to the actual score!! We sometimes wonder if, this is all a set up with the referees in the games. All I can say is Kudo’s to all of you and again “ESPECIALLY, MATT FARGO!” Mahalo & Aloha, from Honolulu!

PS: I will definately follow you next year but, I don’t know if you can beat this years picking that you have been doing. It’s been just Great, Awesome, Bad (in a good way)
and totally Unreal!!!

Take Care and thanks again for all your “great tips”

The Bills are getting hot way too late in the season, but not too late to beat the Jeta “North of the Border.”

Keep thowing it to T.O. and Buffalo comes away with the win.
