Texans vs. Vikings Week 9 Spread

Point spread for the week 9 NFL clash between the Houston Texans and the Minnesota Vikings plus the betting spreads, and betting trends for nfl football gambling…

NFL Game day – Houston Texans vs. Minnesota Vikings

This is a game between two teams going in opposite directions. After a terrible start to the NFL season, the Houston Texans have sort of turned the corner. They are now 3 and 4, well within earshot of the playoffs in the AFC, and have on of the top quarterback and wide receiver combinations in the NFL with Matt Schaub throwing and Andre Johnson catching. Their defense is coming together nicely and they should only improve as the season wears on.

Sports betting fans have to be disappointed in the Minnesota Vikings. The biggest issue is their lack of offensive power outside of Adrian Peterson. The Vikes were one of the BetUS online football betting favorites at the beginning of this NFL season. Unfortunately for them, they have sort of fallen off the map. Even though their record is 3 and 4, they will have a tough time making the playoffs for the simple fact that the NFC is loaded with teams capable of getting into the post-season. The Vikings are coming off a bye week. That means they should prove difficult to beat in this game, right? We shall see.

Here are the BetUS online sportsbook betting odds for this game.

Kick-off: 1:00 pm est.

Houston Texans + 4 ½ – 110 + 170 O 47 – 110
Minnesota Vikings – 4 ½ – 110 – 210 U 47 – 110

Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game.

The Houston Texans are 5 and 2 against the spread versus a team with a losing record.
The Over is 8 and 1 in the Houston Texans last 9 games overall.
The Minnesota Vikings are 2 and 8 against the spread in their last 9 games overall.
The Under is 4 and 1 in the Minnesota Vikings last 5 games at home.

I like the Texans to play very, very well in this game. Teams coming off of a bye so far this NFL season have been virtually unstoppable against the BetUS online wagering spread.

Why then do I like the Texans? Because they have a very good offense and their defense is good enough to stop the Vikings. DeMeco Ryans, the Texans’ terrific linebacker, is the perfect antidote to Vikings’ offensive juggernaut, Adrian Peterson. If the Vikes shut down Peterson, then Minnesota will have to go to the air.

The Texans’ cornerbacks are adept at intercepting and batting down passes. This should be especially true because Gus Frerotte will be the guy throwing the ball for the Vikes.

NFL Week 9 Prediction:

I’m going to take a stand and try and make some online profits in this game. I like the Texans on the BetUS money line at + 170 to upset the Minnesota Vikings straight-up on the road.
