NFL Monday Night Gambling – Ravens vs. Steelers

Monday Night Football Preview

The Baltimore Ravens travel to Pittsburgh on Monday night in a key game in the AFC North Division. The Steelers looked like the easy winner of the division just two weeks ago after crushing the Houston Texans in week one and then beating the Cleveland Browns in week two.

But the Ravens have proven themselves to be capable online betting profit makers by winning their first two games of the season. The NFL schedule didn’t do the Ravens any favors by giving them a bye in week two of the NFL betting season. Still, the Ravens are undefeated in the AFC North at 2 and 0. A win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night would make them 3 and 0 in their division.

I’m not sure what to make of the Steelers. After thrashing the Houston Texans in week one, where they covered against a fairly high BetUS online sportsbook wagering spread, the Steelers looked less than great in week two when they beat the Cleveland Browns 10 to 6. Pittsburgh didn’t cover the BetUS online sportsbook betting spread in that game.

Then, just last Sunday they lost to a Bryan Westbrook-less Philadelphia Eagles team 15 to 6. After scoring 38 points in their first game of the season, Pittsburgh has suddenly gone cold offensively scoring only 16 points in their past two games.

Here are the BetUS online sportsbook betting odds for this game.

Baltimore Ravens + 5 – 110 + 190 O 34 ½ – 110
Pittsburgh Steelers – 5 – 110 – 230 U 34 ½ – 110

Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game.

The Baltimore Ravens are 5 and 14 against the spread in their last 19 games overall.
The Baltimore Ravens are 5 and 1 against the spread in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are 3 and 7 against the spread in their last 10 games versus an AFC opponent.
The Over is 10 and 4 in the last 14 meetings between these two teams.

The BetUS over/under is a difficult online wager to make – – either way – – because the Steelers will be without their best running back, Willie Parker. Without Parker, the Steelers will have to rely on rookie Rashard Mendenhall. Mendenhall is good but he won’t be able to control a game the way that Parker can.

The Ravens were very, very impressive last Sunday in their victory over the Cleveland Browns. The Ravens dominated the Browns after falling behind early in the game. This team is much better than NFL betting fans realize. Joe Flacco doesn’t play like a rookie. Flacco has thrown two interceptions to no touchdowns but his completion percentage of 58.3% is pretty darn good.

The Steelers have hit a wall for some reason. Maybe, it’s a good time to take a big swing and go for the underdog.

Monday Night Prediction:

The online bet that I will be making will be on the Baltimore Ravens to win this game straight-up at the BetUS NFL betting odds of + 190.

The Ravens have been playing well while the Steelers haven’t. That’s enough for me to take a big swing in this game.
