Point spread and prediction for the week 14 NFL clash between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints plus the betting spreads, and betting trends for nfl football gambling…

NFL Sunday Betting – Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints

Game-day: 12/7/2008
Kick-off: 1:00 pm est.

The New Orleans Saints had a chance to make an inroad into the NFC South title by beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past Sunday. Drew Brees threw three interceptions and the Saints lost by three points. They beat the BetUS online sports betting spread by a single point, but they lost the game straight-up. It’s too bad because the Saints have one of the best offenses in the NFL. They just can’t get it together. Straight-up the Saints are 6 and 6. Against the BetUS online wagering spread the Saints are 8 and 4.

The Atlanta Falcons have made believers out of this online sportsbook NFL betting fan! They are coming off of a stirring victory over what was considered one of the better teams in the AFC Conference this season, the San Diego Chargers. Quarterback Matt Ryan is as good as any rookie quarterback I’ve seen in years. I like the Falcons to make a push for the NFC South title this season. I definitely like them to make the playoffs. Straight-up this team is 8 and 4. Against the spread Atlanta is also 8 and 4.

Here are the BetUS online sportsbook betting odds for this game:

Atlanta Falcons + 3 Ev O 52 ½ – 110
New Orleans Saints – 3 – 120 U 52 ½ – 110

Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game.

The Atlanta Falcons are 5 and 1 against the spread in their last 6 games on turf.
The Over is 1 and 5 in the Atlanta Falcons last 6 games on the road.
The New Orleans Saints are 5 and 1 against the spread in their last 6 games at home.
The Over is 4-1-1 in the New Orleans Saints last 6 home games.

This one comes down to a very simple fact, the Saints play well at home and the Falcons play well on turf.

This is a watershed game for the Saints. They need to win out to have any chance at making the playoffs. Well, I don’t think they do because even though they will be fired up to beat Atlanta, their biggest rivals, at home, they have no answer for both Matt Ryan and running back Michael Turner.

New Orleans has a terrible defense. What’s worse for them in this game is that the Falcons’ D is actually good enough to get some stops versus the Saints. So, if the Saints can’t outscore the Falcons then they have no chance of winning this game.

Falcons vs. Saints Week 14 Prediction:

I’m going to take Atlanta and the points in this one. The BetUS online sportsbook wagering spread of 3 points is perfect. I believe Atlanta will win this game outright and I will definitely take a look at the money line once the BetUS odds makers release it but in the mean time I’m going with Atlanta at + 3 in their game against the New Orleans Saints this Sunday.
