Week 17 NFL Spread: Cowboys vs. Eagles

Point spread and prediction for the week 17 NFL clash between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles plus the betting spreads, and betting trends for nfl football gambling…

NFL Betting Analysis Cowboys @ Eagles

How many lives do the Dallas Cowboys have? More than one sports betting fan was ready to put a fork into them after they lost a key game this past Saturday night to the Baltimore Ravens. But then, on Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers decided to lose and so did the Philadelphia Eagles. Now the ‘Boys control their own destiny. Of course, that doesn’t mean that Dallas has all of a sudden become a good team against the BetUS online sportsbook wagering spread. Dallas is still only 7 and 8 against the spread. They are 3 and 4 against the spread in their away games this season and they actually almost lost to Philadelphia the first time these two teams met in the second week of the season.

The Philadelphia Eagles had an opportunity to improve their playoff chances this past Sunday but lost straight-up and against the NFL betting spread, losing to the Washington Redskins. The Eagles are a good team but they have only played well in spurts so far this season. They will need to not only beat the Cowboys in this game but hope that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lose straight-up to the Oakland Raiders. That’s a tall order.

Here are the BetUS online sportsbook betting odds for this game.

Dallas Cowboys + 1 ½ – 110 O 42 ½ – 110
Philadelphia Eagles – 1 ½ – 110 U 42 ½ – 110

Here are a few online wagering trends that might help us find a good online bet in this game.

The Dallas Cowboys are 1 and 4 against the spread in their last 5 games on the road.
The Under is 10 and 3 in the Dallas Cowboys last 13 games after an against the spread loss.
The Philadelphia Eagles are 5 and 2 against the spread in their last 7 games as a favorite at home.
The Over is 22-9-1 in the Philadelphia Eagles last 32 games versus a team with a winning record.

This is a must win situation for both teams, but I’m not even thinking about which team will win this game straight-up because both Philadelphia and Dallas are almost mirror teams of each other.
They have similar offenses and their defenses are close to being the same. Philly is a bit better in blitz situations but Tony Romo, the Cowboys’ quarterback, has the ability to make things happen on the fly.

What I’m curious about is the BetUS Total. To me it is way too small. Yes, one of the key trends above says that the Cowboys play in under games after losing against the spread, but this is Philadelphia.

The last time these two teams met the score was Dallas 41 and Philly 37. It doesn’t have to be close to that for this thing to go over.

Cowboys vs. Eagles Prediction:

I’ll be making an online football bet on the game between the Cowboys and the Eagles to go over the BetUS Total of 42 ½ points.
