Free PGA Picks: 2015 Travelers Championship Golf Betting Preview

This Week’s PGA Tour Predictions!

The TPC Travelers Championship has some big shoes to fill – one week after a scintillating US Open. The pros move to TPC River Highlands this week – a par-70 layout of 6,841 yards. It features plenty of par 5 scoring opportunities and some drivable par 4s.

Nothing like the length and extreme conditions of last week will greet the contenders this week – TPC River Highlands will seem like a picnic compared to Chambers Bay.

TPC River Highlands is the second shortest track the pros will play this year – but somehow bombers have done well here – just ask Bubba Watson. Hitting greens and a hot putter are crucial this week – the winner will have to go low!

This event has been a haven for first time winners on TOUR – will it happen again? Let’s take a look.

2015 Travelers Championship Favorites:

Bubba Watson 12/1

Bubba is in a bit of a slump – a missed cut at the US Open and a T42 at THE PLAYERS, but he has been very good on this track – five top 15s since 2008, including a win in 2010.

[dfads params=’groups=63742&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

He has averaged just north of 67 in his rounds here since that time – he should definitely be in the mix against a watered down field – or something is amiss!

Patrick Reed 14/1

Was in contention at the US Open before a brutal third round. But the fact remain that he still enters in good form of that T14 finish. Reed is a dangerous guy and will be out for blood after getting a taste last week at Chambers Bay.

Brandt Snedeker 16/1

If putting is the determining factor this week consider Sneds a serious threat. He has finished inside the top eight in his last three tournaments including a solid eighth last week at the Open. He finished T11 here last year and enters this edition in very good form. He ranks T10 in par 4 scoring average – something that will definitely help him out this week.

2015 Travelers Championship Contenders:

Billy Horschel 18/1

Will be happy not to be at Chambers Bay where he was very open about his displeasure. He still finished T25 there however – his fifth straight top 25 finish. He is a streaky guy who is in good form heading into the week. If nice lush greens are what Horschel wants, that’s what he gets this week. I have had Billy on my picks the last two weeks – maybe he’’ pay me off this week.

Sergio Garcia 18/1

Finished T2 here last year and is coming off an OK T18 at Chambers Bay and a T2 a month ago at TPC Sawgrass. It’s not a Major this week so Garcia could be a factor!

Keegan Bradley 28/1

You gotta think that this guy is due to break out of an unflattering stretch and why not in his backyard. He did have a top ten at The Memorial and a T-27 at the U.S. Open – trending upward ahead of this event.

[dfads params=’groups=526&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Bradley is still having a bit of a hard time with the short putter and has finished no better than T18 on this track but something tells me he’s in for a good week.

Russell Knox 33/1

Comes in rested after not playing at the US Open. He has made seven straight cuts and has posted five top 24 finishes. He ranks ninth in GIR on TOUR, second in proximity andT4 in par 4 scoring and had a T13 here in 2013. Knox could surprise this week in a slightly watered down field.

Tony Finau 33/1

Has two top tens in last three tournaments and a T-14 at the U.S. Open – the guy has been playing some good golf. What has impressed many was his effort at the US Open – solid under pressure. He’s hitting on some cylinders and could be a threat this week.

2015 Travelers Championship Sleepers (50/1 or higher):

Will Wilcox 50/1

Has quietly been coming on – four top 5s in his last five starts with a T12 last time out at Memphis. Wilcox has a bit of buzz about him – I’m buying.

Matt Jones 66/1

Finished T3 in his last start at TPC Southwind in a tournament that everything seemed to be clicking – ranked T5 in greens hit and second in strokes gained: putting. Yup – it’s slim pickins in the sleeper category this week.

2015 Travelers Championship Picks:

The pick this week in Brandt Snedeker at 16/1 – he has been getting it done lately. Every part of his game seems to be on point – his current form is simply the best in the field right now. Sneds is due baby!

The sleeper this week is Will Wilcox at 50/1. Hey – I told you that the sleeper class was a bit thin.
