Free PGA Picks: 2015 Greenbrier Classic Golf Betting Preview

This Week’s PGA Tour Predictions!

The PGA pros head to West Virginia this week to play the 2015 Greenbrier Classic at The Old White TPC – a par-70 layout that stretches out to 7,287 yards. The event has been a tad difficult to handicap – Stuart Appleby, Scott Stallings, Ted Potter Jr., Jonas Blixt and Angel Cabrera are the last five winners here – hardly top end names!

Unlike most weeks on TOUR, driving and driving accuracy won’t be crucial – the fairways are large and forgiving. It will be pretty easy sledding this week – this track is traditionally been among the easiest par 70s every year it has been on TOUR.

The one thing that we do know heading into the week is that the last one standing Sunday will have to go low – The Old White TPC is a track that Stuart Appleby shot 59 on!

2015 Greenbrier Classic Favorites:

Bubba Watson 10/1

Bubba looked pretty darn good last week and gets a crack at another course that he should be able to do some damage on. He was just T16 last year but has had more than his share of good rounds on this track.

When Bubba is Hot, it’s pretty hard not to ride him!

Paul Casey 22/1

Casey has been playing consistently good golf all season long – 4 top 10’s in his last 7 starts and off a playoff loss last week at TPC River Highlands should be motivated this week. Casey has definitely been trending upward lately and is worth a look.

Webb Simpson 22/1

Simpson has the best track record of anyone here – three top nine finishes in this event the last four years. He’s a guy the shows up big on the track he likes – The Old White TPC being one. He is eighth in strokes gained: tee-to-green on TOUR and eighth in all-around – good numbers for this course.

2015 Greenbrier Classic Contenders:

Graham DeLaet 25/1

This guy is going to win sometime. Believe me. The Old White TPC is a course that should fit his game – DeLaet is one of the better ball strikers in the game and his game has been ramping up lately – a fourth place finish last week after a disappointing Sunday show that this guy is close – maybe this is his week.

Bill Haas 28/1

Has quietly put together a nice season – three top 10s and another five top 25s in 15 starts. Haas has played well on this track before – 4 of 4 cuts made and 2 Top 10’s with a playoff loss in 2011 being his best result.

[dfads params=’groups=526&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Haas is a threat every time he tees it up and in a slightly watered down filed could emerge.

Kevin Kisner 28/1

Kisner isn’t sneaking up on anybody anymore – he has top 12 finishes in his last three starts including the US Open and has five top 12 finishes in his last seven starts – impressive indeed. He has never made the cut here – strange because his strengths seem to line up so well with this course. There is zero danger of a missed cut this year!

Tony Finau 33/1

Impressive rookie has six straight top 25s including a T14 at the US Open. He’s been knocking on the door and could be a sneaky bet this week.

2015 Greenbrier Classic Sleepers (50/1 or higher):

Cameron Tringale 50/1

Has quietly played well the last couple of months on tracks that suit his game – this week is one of those courses. He finished T4 here in 2011 and 2014 and could be good value.

Pat Perez 50/1

Perez is another guy that has plodded along and has posted some good results without a breakthough performance. Perez has five top 20 finishes among his seven straight cuts made and has is 4 of 4 cuts with 2 Top 10’s at this venue.

2015 Greenbrier Classic Picks:

Gonna go with Graham DeLaet at 25/1 this week. His game has been there for the better part of two years – his confidence was certainly lacking earlier this season. But off a fourth place finish last week, expect the good DeLaet to show up and get his first win.

The Sleeper is Pat Perez who has quietly been playing some solid golf as of late. His history at the Greenbrier also makes him an intriguing 50/1 this week.
