Free PGA Picks: 2015 AT&T Byron Nelson Championship Betting Preview

This Week’s PGA Tour Predictions!

The PGA Pros head to Irving, Texas this week to play the 2015 AT&T Byron Nelson Championship and TPC Four Seasons Resort. TPC Four Seasons is a par-70 layout, stretching out to a relatively short 7,166 yards but it was the second-hardest par 70 of 13 in non-majors last season.

Hitting fairways, scoring on the par 4s and a hot putter are essential this week so is current form and track history.

Four of the last five champions at TPC Four Seasons Resort were first-time winners on the PGA TOUR – will it be another breakthrough performance that wins it all this week or will one of the clear faves emerge? Let’s take a look.

2015 AT&T Byron Nelson Championship Favorites:

Jordan Spieth 9/2

Spieth is at the top of everyone’s list and rightfully so. That said it is widely known that this track doesn’t fit his eye – he has yet to crack the top 15 in four appearances in his hometown event. He has two wins and three seconds in his last eight starts this season including a T2 last week.

[dfads params=’groups=63742&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

He is simply the hottest player on the planet right now and looks like he will be a favorite every time he tees it up.

Dustin Johnson 11/1

Will tee it up since a disappointing T69 at THE PLAYERS and having cooled off the last couple of months. He has finished inside the top 20 in his last four trips to the Byron Nelson – 7th in 2014 and 2010, tied for 20th in 2011, tied for 4th in 2009. He has already shown tremendous form this year – a stretch in which he finished no worse than tied for 6th in five-of-six straight starts including a win at the WGC Cadillac Championship. In a slightly watered down field DJ is a name to keep an eye on.

Jason Day 16/1

Former winner here in 2010 also has a fifth (2011), T9 (2012) and T27 (2013). But Day looks to be in a bit of a slump right now overall – I’m staying away from him this week.

2015 AT&T Byron Nelson Championship Contenders:

Brandt Snedeker 25/1

Played well at Colonial en route to a T2 finish – his putter finally showed up. He did miss the cut here last year but his result last week has him on the radar for this week.

Matt Kuchar 28/1

Hasn’t been great overall lately but has fared very well on this track – top 15s in three of the last four years. Kuchar is due for a huge week and his stats line up very well with this course – fifth in scrambling and T3 in par-4 scoring.

Charley Hoffman 33/1

Loves to play in Texas as evidenced by respective T11, T11 and T10 in his last three starts in the Lone Star State. He finished T8 here last year and could be rewarded for a solid season this week.

[dfads params=’groups=526&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Keegan Bradley 33/1

2011 winner hasn’t been impressive at all – a missed cut at TPC Sawgrass followed an early Match-Play exit. That said he has made the cut all four times he’s played here and has a runner-up finish to go along with his win. If Bradley can somehow figure out his putter he may contend – Bradley is purely a Horse for the Course.

Marc Leishman 33/1

Won this event in 2010 and has made 5/6 cuts here, and all five went for T12s or better including another top 3 finish. He enters in decent form as well- he has finished inside the top 30 in each of his last 3 starts overall. He is tops on TOUR in both par-3 and par-4 scoring – great attributes for this track.

2015 AT&T Byron Nelson Championship Sleepers (50/1 or higher):

Hunter Mahan 75/1

It’s hard to imagine getting Mahan at 75/1 but his play hasn’t been all that great here. He makes his first start here since 2010. He’s a value pick –just a hunch on him having a good week.

Jerry Kelly 80/1

You gotta love Jerry Kelly’s game. He has finished inside the top 25 in his last four starts and is coming off a T10 at Colonial. His stats line up well here – T1 in par-3 scoring, fourth in scrambling, 29th in strokes gained: putting – and he did finish T21 here last year. Kelly has been very good as of late and is certainly due.

2015 AT&T Byron Nelson Championship Picks:

The pick this week is Brandt Snedeker at 25/1. He is a streaky guy and as long as his putter stays hot as it was last week he wins.

The Sleeper is Jerry Kelly at 80/1 –love his game, love his temperament and love his chances this week.
