I will try to make it three of four when the Pros head to Pebble Beach where like the Humana, three courses will be utilized in the first three days of the tournament.

This week will see the professionals and amateurs play a rotation of Pebble Beach (host course) Par 72, Spyglass Hill Golf Club Par 72 and Monterey Peninsula Country Club Par 70. All 3 courses are 6,800 yards+. Pebble Beach is the shortest course on the PGA Tour. The field will play all 3 courses over the first three days before the final round which will be played out at Pebble Beach.

Needless to say, length isn’t as essential this week as it was last. Small greens, windy conditions will welcome the golfers this week – accuracy seems to be the name of the game (although big hitters traditionally do well here). Scoring on the par 5s will be essential this week as well as a hot putter. Course history and present form will also factor into my pick this week.

So who should we keep an eye on this week – let’s take a look!

2015 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Favorites:

Jason Day 8/1

I usually don’t advise looking at a player that won the week before but Day’s case is a tad different. He looks like he is finding some absolutely elite form and would love to build on that this weekend. He has never missed a cut here with three top 15s and two sixth-place finishes. Day is full of confidence and a worthy favorite here.

Jimmy Walker 8/1

Defending champion played well last week in finishing seventh at the Farmers and is playing as well as anyone on the planet right now. He leads the FedEx Cup standings and is almost assured to finish in the top 10 every week right now.

Walker is a scary man indeed!

Jordan Spieth 14/1

Proved that he is mortal last week when he missed the cut at Torrey Pines as one of the favorites. He finished T4 here last year and was T22 in this event the year before – expect a bounce back this week for sure! Remember, this is a kid that had two wins at the end of 2014 and a T7 at the Waste Management.

2015 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Contenders:

Dustin Johnson 16/1

Absolutely loves this event! He has two wins and a second place finish here and should have won the US Open when it was held here in 2010. That said, rust reared its ugly head last week – it may take him a few more competitive rounds to get going again.

Patrick Reed 16/1

Finished T7 here in 2013 and had a T13 last year and was one of the hotter guys on TOUR before he cooled off to a T20 in Phoenix. He’s due for a bounce back this week.

Brandt Snedeker 22/1

Won this tournament in 2013 but missed the cut shockingly last year. He has top 20 finishes in his last two starts overall – a T10 at the WMPO with a T19 at the Farmers and should be good to go on poa annua grass that he tailored his game around.

Hunter Mahan 25/1

Has played well in this event finishing no worse that T16 in his last four appearances with a runner-up effort being the highlight. Mahan is always a threat here – his year should be no different.

2015 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Sleepers (50/1 or higher):

Spencer Levin 55/1

Is sneaking under the radar a bit. He has two top 10s and a T14 in five tries at this event and is coming off a T11 at the Farmers. Intriguing indeed

Rory Sabbatini 75/1

Has been good in 2015 – top 24 finishes in all three starts this year including a T6 at the Sony. He finished second here in 2006 and his stats seem to point to a good finish here again. He is seventh on TOUR in par 4 scoring average – something that will come in handy this week.

Bryce Molder 100/1

Looking for a super-sleeper? How about a guy that has three top 10s and a T12 in last five editions of this tournament?

2015 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Pick:

The pick this week ain’t sexy and it ain’t much of a shock. Defending champion Jimmy Walker 8/1 has not only shown that he can repeat in a tournament but he has simply been the most dominant guy on TOUR so far. Walker’s time is early in the season – you gotta roll with him while he’s hot.

The sleeper is Spencer Levin at 55/1. He has played very well at Pebble Beach and he was a factor last week. Course history and present form make Levin some decent value here.
