2014 PGA Golf Handicapping preview – Betting tips, PGA odds

PGA Tour Money List 2014 – Outright Winner

It`s December – time to talk a little golf – right? Bodog has come out with a ton of golf futures – the most intriguing being the race for the top of the PGA TOUR money list. Who is going to be the guy that is going to step up and dominate 2014?

Let`s take a look at who could be chasing Tiger Woods in 2014. Odds from [dfads params=’groups=63740&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Tiger Woods 5/4 – You have to think that Tiger is going to do some damage in the Majors this year – that’s where he makes his bank.  In fact – he is far overdue for a couple of wins on golf’s biggest stages. Woods is the overwhelming favorite to top the money list for a reason. He was the 2013 money leader playing only 16 tournaments and the next closest was Henrik Stenson – $2 million behind Woods.

Let`s be honest folks – there is Tiger Woods and then there are the rest.

Rory McIlroy 12/1 – McIlroy will be better in 2014 – he has to be! But he did not look great last year. He fished 41st on the money list last year – not good.

Adam Scott 16/1 – Just like Tiger – Adam Scott win likely do well in the majors which makes him a factor to top the money list next year. Scott may be the best all around golfer in the world and he has learned to deal with pressure. He had two huge wins last year and finished sixth on the money list.

Scott is a beast and has his eyes set on surpassing Tiger as the best golfer on the planet and is an intriguing 16/1.

Henrik Stenson 16/1 – Stenson finished second on the money list last year ahead of names like Kuchar, Mickelson, Brandt Snedeker and Adam Scott. Stenson was a steady as they come and he peaked toward the end of 2013. He heads into 2014 on quite a roll.

Brandt Snedeker 20/1 – Sneds played 23 events last year, won twice and finished fifth on the money list. The sheer volume of tournament he plays makes Snedeker an intriguing 20/1/

Matt Kuchar 20/1 – Kuch had two wins last year and finished third on the money list. Kuchar is another one of those steady guys that could get hot and make some noise. He did play five more events than Stenson and seven more than Woods and that pace could keep him near the top of the money list.

Justin Rose 25/1 – not sure what to make of Rose – he will likely keep playing in Europe as much as he does in the States.

Phil Mickelson 25/1 – Mickelson – too hot and cold for me.

Jason Day 33/1 – is that next superstar on TOUR and has already looked good in Australia this year. He played 21 events last year – 5 more than Woods

Keegan Bradley 33/1 – plays a lot and usually finds himself in contention in big tourneys. Bradley played a staggering 25 events last year. He is the American Jason Day – may be worth a little gamble at 33/1.

Zach Johnson 33/1
Hunter Mahan 40/1
Jason Dufner 40/1

Is there any gold out there – any sleepers worth taking a look at? Not likely but here are the big names and the odds associated with them.

Steve Stricker 50/1 – doesn’t play enough

Webb Simpson 50/1 – a tad too inconsistent

Bill Haas 66/1 – may be the best overall value on the board – only two years removed from a FedEx Cup

Billy Horschel 66/1 – youngster ready to step up but likely won’t challenge the big dogs this year

Charl Schwartzel 66/1 – all the talent in the world but has a hard time sustaining it over a whole season. Also, will he play enough in the US to challenge?

Jim Furyk 66/1
Luke Donald 66/1
Rickie Fowler 80/1

Bubba Watson 100/1 – It’s been a while since Bubba was considered to be in elite form. Maybe this is his year. He always shows up in Majors and he could play more this year.

Lee Westwood 100/1 –He just can’t seem to win a Major!

Nick Watney 100/1
Sergio Garcia 100/1
