Just because no one will watch it outside the state of Colorado doesn’t mean it isn’t a big game. The Preds and Avs are fighting for coveted home-ice advantage in the upcoming Western Conference playoffs. Right now, the Preds are limping into Denver. They have an outstanding 15-8-2 road record and really turned heads by sweeping the Western Canadian swing last week but the condensed, Olympic-friendly NHL schedule may finally be getting to the Preds. They lost to the lowly Leafs on Monday and the Coyotes last night.
Now, they visit Colorado to battle a sizzling Avalanche team riding a four-game winning streak. We have no choice but to accept Colorado as the real deal at this point. Sure, it knocked off struggling Calgary and Edmonton during their streak, but it also downed Buffalo and New Jersey.
Youngsters like Paul Stastny, Wojtek Wolski, Chris Stewart and, of course, blue chipper Matt Duchene have all seemingly arrived.
Bettors should ride the wave of this likable, hard-working team and pick them at home tonight.
