If the Buffalo Sabres want to consider themselves a player in the Easter Conference, a win against Philadelphia on Tuesday night would be a good start. The Flyers are the hottest team in the Eastern Conference and have gone an impressive 11-3-1 in their last 15 games. The Sabres had been underwhelming until a recent 4-0-1 streak got them out of their funk.

The Flyers have the league’s third best offense – they score 3.3 goals per game. When Mike Richards and Jeff Carter aren’t scoring, Daniele Briere, Ville Leino and Scott Hartnell step up. The Flyers are one of two teams in the NHL that has at least seven players with at least 10 goals.

Brian Boucher has been absolutely Lights Out for the Flyers recently. He is a remarkable 9-1-1 in his last 11 games with a 1.98 goals against Average. He will get the start on Tuesday Night.

All seemed lost for Buffalo after Derek Roy went down with injury and the team was flirting with mediocrity. Drew Stafford and Thomas Vanek then started to produce. Stafford has four goals and three assists in four games and Thomas Vanek has three goals and three assists in his last four. It’s no wonder that the Sabres are 4-0-1 in their last five.

Ryan Miller is an elite talent that hasn’t been elite this season. However, in his last two starts, he has looked like the Miller of old – he has gone 2-0-0 with a 0.49 goals against average

Betting Prediction: The Philadelphia Flyers are 11-3-1 in their last 15 game and are 7-2 in their last nine games on the road. The Sabres are 6-2 in their last eight games at home.

The Flyers are deep and they are talented. The Sabres’ top two lines may be able to at least compete in this game but the third and fourth lines will beat the Sabres up. Look for the Flyers speed to cause a few mistakes, for one of the better power plays to do damage in this game and for the Flyers to run away with this one.

Pick: Philadelphia Flyers -120
