The Boston Bruins have looked pretty good this season, particularly away from home. They are 2-0 on the road so far and some offseason moves that they have made appear to be paying off as well.

Nathan Horton acquired in a trade from Florida lead the team in goals (3) and points (5) this season while their first round draft choice Tyler Seguin has recorded a goal and an assist in the three games that he has played so far.

Goaltender Tuukka Rask may get the start in goal despite his backup Tim Thomas’s 2-0 record and one goal against in those two games.

The Washington Capitals are looking like the team that many though they would be. They are 4-1 on the season and are 3-0 at home so far. Alex Ovechkin has four goals and four assists in five games and has recorded at least one point in each game so far.

The surprises of the season for the Caps are the fact that they are a perfect 21 for 21 on the penalty kill after ranking a disappointing 24th last season and the fact that a rookie goaltender is providing solid net minding. Michael Nuevirth is 4-1 with a 2.16 goals against average and a .930 save percentage.

Washington is 21-2-3 in their last 26 games on home ice and is 37-16 in their last 53 overall. They are 7-0-2 in their last nine against Boston as well. Despite the potential of being without three starting defensemen on Tuesday night (Mike Green, Tom Poti and John Carlson), Washington can do no wrong on home ice.
