The November NHL Hockey Betting Review

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the NHL betting season is that nobody is taking advantage of the easiest sport to make money on in our sportsbook! Seriously, our hockey betting crowd is making a killing. It’s a good thing for us that that crowd isn’t larger. The bad news for us is that it’s never too late for you to turn your fortunes around with some solid hockey plays in the upcoming winter months.

Admit it. Football is tearing you to shreds and basketball spreads are killing you. Welcome to hockey betting, the winter version of baseball betting! And the best part is that hockey betting counts towards your rollover in full! Don’t worry, I’m not going to send you off into the blizzard alone. The Furious One is here to guide you through the confusing storm of hockey pucks and hockey stick wielding white guys!

Toronto and Columbus Proving Upstart Potential

I’m going to start in the capital of the Hockey World – Toronto. If you’re looking for an upset special, then look no further than the Blue Leafs! I work in an office in Montreal, full of Habs fans and every time the Habs hit the rink against the Leafs, they get nervous. That’s bad news when you’re supposedly the best team in the Eastern Conference and you can’t muster up the courage to face a team that has gone 6-5-4 SU this season.

For you Western Conference betting junkies, I’d advise heavily to get off the St. Louis Blues’ betting bandwagon. The Blues have tumbled down the rankings and are now riding a brutal five-game losing skid that has them at the bottom of the Central Division.

If you’re looking for an upstart special out West, then just inch a bit higher in the Central Division to find the Columbus Blue Jackets. Riding a three game winning streak and going 5-2-1 SU at home will bring all sorts of attention to you. If you were a smart degenerate, then you’d be betting on them at home throughout the season. I don’t care if you don’t know jack about hockey. If you want to make money, then ride this Columbus money making train as long as you can.

Barry Melrose’s Mullet Has Lost All Its Power

The difference between a good hockey analyst and a good hockey coach is about a mile wide. Analysts get the benefit of hindsight, watching the games from their ivory tower in the studios and criticizing the hard work of many with no real repercussions. Well guess what, Barry Melrose, now you’re a hockey coach and going 5-5-4 SU, including 2-2-3 SU at home, is completely unacceptable. My biggest disappointment of the hockey betting season has undoubtedly been the brutal Tampa Bay Lightning. With talent like this team boasts, you can’t justify a record like that if you’re a good coach. That’s “if” you’re a good coach, Melrose.

Cream Is Rising To The Top

The Rangers and Canadiens are still the teams to beat out East. Boston has been on a crazy run, going 8-3-3 SU, and are one of the best bets at home. They’re 4-1-1 SU at home. But they’ll lose to the Canadiens by the end of the hockey betting season. The Habs are in swinging-for-the-fences mode. The bulk of their talent goes to free-agency next year and they have to win now. Getting past the 11-5-2 SU Rangers is going to be one bully of a task.

In the West, the Ducks have jumped into the fray that Detroit and San Jose have started. The Wings are 9-2-2 SU but have shown a big weakness while their goalie situation attempts to resolve itself (hint: trade for a better goalie, Detroit!). The Ducks have also jumped in to the Mats Sundin stakes, vying for the talented forward’s skills recently. If Sundin joins the ranks in Anaheim, it’s virtually an open-shut case out West.

Until San Jose officially wins a Stanley Cup, I’m not getting behind them for a futures investment. It’s simply not worth it. But going undefeated at home should cause you to lean their way when you’re betting on hockey. In terms of the puckline, there is no better team to side with than San Jose when they’re playing at home. The Sharks allow 1.9 goals against in their own house when they usually score 3.7. That’s enough of a differential for you to make huge money when betting puckline this season, which I highly advise against usually. With the Sharks, however, it’s a great choice…until you get to the playoffs.
