Panic is starting to set in for the Sharks – it is evident in their body language, their play on the ice and even their post-game interviews.

Perhaps the biggest story going into Game 6 is the availability of the Sharks best defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic. He is by far San Jose’s best defenseman and is in danger of missing Monday’s game after getting injured in the first period of Game 5.

Vlasic’s injury will certainly hurt a team that hasn’t got a lot going for it right now. After scoring 16 goals in the first three games of the series the Sharks have scored just three is the last two – they were shut out in Game 5. The offense has gone silent and has exposed San Jose’s weakness – defense and goaltending.

Antti Niemi has been pulled in two straight games. He has given up nine goals in the last two games and doesn’t look as though he can be counted on to steak a game. Alex Stalock has not allowed a goal on 26 shots in relief the last two games and may be the better option.

The Los Angeles Kings look like a completely different team and it all starts with Jonathan Quick – the team definitely feeds of his confidence. He made numerous game changing saves Game 5, a 30 save shutout – his team did the rest in front of him.

Kings rookie Tyler Toffoli has scored in back-to-back games – he may be the best King offensively. Jeff Carter and Anze Kopitar now have five points in five games in the series – Toffoli and Marian Gaborik each have four. Nine goals scored in the last two games has the Kings confident for the first time in the series – on home ice they will be difficult to beat.

A few trends to consider:
• Under is 5-2-1 in SJ last 8 Mon. games.
• SJ are 7-3 in their last 10 vs. Pacific.
• Over is 9-4 in SJ last 13 road games.
• LA are 13-4 in their last 17 games following a win.
• LA are 19-8 in their last 27 Mon. games.
• LA are 3-7 in their last 10 vs. Pacific.
• SJ are 1-9 in the last 10 meetings in Los Angeles.
• Home team is 36-17 in the last 53 meetings.

For the Kings to be successful, Jonathan Quick has to be the difference maker – that is what we have seen the last two games. The Kings have their mojo back because of Quick’s play. On the flip side San Jose has lost every bit of momentum they had – every bit. The Sharks are 1-9 in the last 10 meetings in Los Angeles and the home team is 36-17 in the last 53 meetings. This series looks like its going 7!

Pick: Los Angeles Kings -114
