The San Jose Sharks take a 2-0 series lead into Motown on Wednesday night and are curiously +150 in the oddsmakers eyes. So far the Sharks have taken it to the Wings and Antti Niemi looks like the goaltender that took Chicago to the Cup last season.

San Jose comes into Wednesday’s game riding an impressive 6-1 record against Detroit in their last seven playoff games. While the Sharks have only scored four goals in the two games they have amassed an impressive 83 shot on goal. Ryan Clowe has been an absolute beast with two more assists on Sunday and the defense showed that it can score in Game 2. San Jose is clicking but is being hampered by some stellar play by Jimmy Howard.

Antti Niemi has stopped 57 of 59 shots directed at him – he won’t be a problem on Wednesday night.

For Detroit it is all about a lack of scoring – period! They have scored just two goals in two games so far in the series after averaging over four per game against Phoenix. Zetterberg and Franzen are healthy and Pavel Datsyuk is looking great – no more excuses!

Jimmy Howard is holding the Wings in the series – he has stopped 79 of 83 shots at him so far. You can bet that he has had a talk with his boys ahead of this game – a little support would be nice!

NHL Betting Trends:
Over is 10-1-1 in SJ last 12 road games.
SJ are 13-3 in their last 16 vs. Central.
SJ are 24-8 in their last 32 games following a win.
Over is 9-2 in DET last 11 vs. Western Conference.
Over is 9-3 in DET last 12 overall.
DET are 117-43-11 in their last 171 Wed. games.
SJ are 8-20-1 in the last 29 meetings in Detroit.

Betting Prediction: Detroit hasn’t done anything in this series so far that shows that they can hang with the San Jose Sharks. San Jose has been piling it on and if not for Jimmy Howard they might even be favored in this game. I absolutely love the Sharks at +150.

Pick: San Jose Sharks +150
