Bruins vs. Flyers Preview

The Philadelphia Flyers who are the only unbeaten playoff team at home’ other than the Boston Bruins, are at home on Tuesday night in quite a hole. The Flyers have played pretty well but are down 2-0 in the series. Can they turn it around despite not having Jeff Carter, Simon Gagne, and Ian Laperriere in the lineup? Time will tell.

The Boston Bruins are on the roll of their season. They have been playing their best hockey of the season by far and are matched up against a banged up Flyers team with Brian Boucher in goal. The stars are indeed aligned for the Boston Bruins.

Miroslav Satan has been a saviour for the Bruins and actually has a good playoff track record. He now has two goals and two assists in two games and he’s providing a scoring touch that the Bruins have sadly lacked this season. Patrice Bergeron has been great, Chara is a beast and Tuukka Rask is incredible.

The Bruins are not fun to play against right now – just ask Dan Carcillo.

The Philadelphia Flyers are definitely competing but the huge question is whether or not they can overcome the injuries of Carter, Gagne and Laperriere.

They are three everyday starters that have been replaced by three not-everyday starters. Mike Richards is playing some great hockey and Daniele Briere’s re-emergence gives the Flyers some hope in the offense side of the game. Sports Betting at Sportsbook.com

The defense has been good. Chris Pronger has been his typical rock for the Flyers and the rest of the supporting cast is OK. Goaltender Brian Boucher is clearly not the answer in goal for the Flyers.

They know it and we know it. He has been OK but he is nowhere near the calibre of the goaltenders left in the playoffs.

The Flyers are going to win one game in the series for sure but something tells me that they won’t win two. I think their one win will have to wait until Thursday and that the Bruins will keep their roll going.

The Flyers have some holes and the bruins seem to have none.
