After losing two straight road games, the Ducks have reeled off at least a point in five straight games, and have won four of those games in regulation.
The New York Rangers, meanwhile, had to endure a long nine game road trip to start the season themselves. While they weren’t as successful as the Ducks have been on the road, the Rangers have sorted it out at home.

They’ve won three straight games and now sit in forth in the Metropolitan Division where they are only two points behind the Washington Capitals.
This is the second and final game between the Ducks and Rangers. On October 10th, in the middle of their nine game road trip, the New York Rangers faced the Ducks and, well, it wasn’t pretty. The Ducks absolutely destroyed the Rangers en route to a 6-0 victory. The Rangers will be looking to get revenge and as mentioned above, the Rangers seem to have it figured out a bit. I would be very surprised if the Ducks were to do that again on the road. [ad-4437448]
The Rangers are still struggling to score goals a bit, but their defense has been stellar once again. During this three game winning streak the Rangers have only allowed three goals and Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has stopped 56 of 57 shots in the last two games.
Some notable injuries: The Ducks are a bit banged up. They’ll be without Forwards Teemu Selanne, Matt Beleskey, Saku Koivu, Jakob Silfverberg, and goalie Viktor Fasth. The Rangers, meanwhile, there’s nothing really new to report.
The Rangers will still be playing without Captain Ryan Callahan, and forward Rick Nash.
Danny’s FREE NHL Prediction:
Overall, both teams are pretty hot and there really isn’t a whole lot of value in this game. The best pick is probably the Rangers at +1 1/2.
I think this game slightly favors the Rangers and to get them at +1 1/2 is a good pick. I don’t expect the Rangers to get blown out at home and when looking at this game as a whole the Rangers are getting their defense together and I would expect the Ducks to be a bit road weary.
Plus, the Rangers will be looking to close out their homestand with a bang by getting revenge on the Ducks and tying the Capitals for third in the Metropolitan Division.
On the downside, there isn’t much value in taking the Rangers at +1 1/2. So, if you are looking for better value than -110 I would say take the Rangers straight up.
That’s probably the best value pick available given the circumstances. It’s not the greatest, but again I would say that’s the best value pick for this game overall.
