NHL Friday Night Free Picks – Bored Of The World Series? Bet Hockey Tonight!

Philadelphia Flyers (0-3-3) vs. New Jersey Devils (5-1-0)

The Devils are everything you want in an NHL team, as long as you’re not opposed to low scoring offenses. The Flyers are atrocious right now. Even writing about them in any capacity is frustrating. Look for the Devils to demolish the Flyers tonight without a hitch.

NHL Free Pick: New Jersey -175 (UNDER)

Anaheim Ducks (2-5-0) vs. Ottawa Senators (2-3-1)

Talk about two confusing squads. The former Stanley Cup contenders are now meandering their way through seemingly unusual seasons. If anything the Ducks are proving that they are a tough bet on the road. They are 1-4 SU in their last 5 games on the road despite being 6-1 SU in their last 7 games against Ottawa. Bet on the Senators to exact revenge for the lopsided Stanley Cup defeat two seasons ago when they host the Ducks and walk away with a victory.

NHL Free Pick: Ottawa -130 (UNDER)

New York Rangers (6-2-1) vs. Columbus Blue Jackets (3-3-0)

The Rangers have been gutting out victories left, right and center these days. For those of you that questioned the replacement of Jaromir Jagr with Markus Naslund can go tuck your tails between your legs now. The Rangers are netting 2.56 points per game. The main problem is that Columbus is much better than you think and New York is 2-4 SU in their last 6 games on the road. The Jackets have also gone 5-1 SU in their last 6 meeting with New York and are catching the Rangers in the midst of a two-game losing skid. There’s no better underdog tonight then the Jackets.

NHL Free Pick: Columbus +105 (OVER)

Atlanta Thrashers (2-2-2) vs. Detroit Red Wings (4-1-1)

Marion Hossa begin with the once great Ottawa Senators, then found his way to Atlanta before ending up in Pittsburgh where he suffered his first Stanley Cup loss to the Red Wings. If you can’t beat ‘em, then join ‘em! Hossa has helped steady the powerful Wings to a 3.33 goals per game average, and gets to beat up on the team that traded him away last season. His familiarity with Atlanta’s scheme, and the fact that the Thrashers’ horrific 2-13 SU record over the last 15 roadies makes it no wonder this is such a huge line for Detroit. Take it anyways.

NHL Free Pick: Detroit -300 (OVER)

San Jose Sharks (6-1-0) vs. Florida Panthers (3-3-0)

The Sharks are terrorizing the league right now and the Panthers are the next on the list. San Jose averages 3.57 goals per game on 34.86 shots per game. The Panthers are one of the worst teams at protecting their goalie, giving up 33.0 shots per game. San Jose will have plenty of opportunity to wreak havoc on the Panthers’ end.

NHL Free Pick: San Jose -145 (UNDER)

LA Kings (2-3-0) vs. St. Louis Blues (4-2-0)

These are two teams I love, but the Blues are proving to be a stronger team at home than the Kings are on the road. St. Louis has averaged an absurd 4.17 points per game, while LA is getting and giving 2.80 goals for and against this season. To make matters worse for you Kings’ bettors, LA is 3-10 SU in their last 13 road games. This may seem like an inflated line for St. Louis, but the Kings are still a young team and youth doesn’t travel well in the NHL.

NHL Free Pick: St. Louis -170 (OVER)
