Here’s five potential 2015 Stanley Cup Champions that should grab your attention and a possible investment from bettors.
Chicago Blackhawks +500
The public’s favorite still has some value left at 5-1. Currently sitting in 3rd place in the Western Conference, bettors are expecting the Blackhawks to make a 2nd half surge and take the top spot in the West.

Chicago’s main problem to fix going forward is their road play. With just a 12-7-0-1 record away from Chicago, the Blackhawks have been unable to pull away from Nashville in the Central Division standings.
If Chicago fails to win the their division, it could spell trouble come playoff series time if the Blackhawks continue to struggle on the road.
Anaheim Ducks +700
Being on the west coast, if the Ducks aren’t on national tv, people typically don’t get to see just how good of a season they’re having. The Ducks hold an 11 point advantage in the NHL Pacific standings over the Vancouver Canucks and a 4 point lead over Nashville and Chicago for the overall number 1 seed in the West.
The ironic part of the Ducks holding one of the best records in the NHL is that their goal differential is just +5. They rank 17th in goals scored with 2.7 scored and rank 15th with 2.6 goals against. The numbers aren’t staggering by any means for Anaheim, but they are simply finding ways to win.

At 7-1, that may be the best price you’ll get the Ducks this season.
Pittsburgh Penguins +900
Even with inconsistent play and an odd mumps injury, the Penguins led by Sydney Crosby are just 1 point out of 1st place in the Eastern Conference. The leaders of the NHL Metropolitan division are one of the best two hockey teams in the league. The Pens score 3.0 goals a game and are allowing just 2.3 against.
Pittsburgh has been boosted behind it’s home play with 15 wins and just 6 losses.
The Captain, Sydney Crosby, has 43 points accumulated thus far which includes his 32 assists.
Even though the Eastern Conference is tightly packed, the Penguins should have no problem making the playoffs. at 9-1 odds, bettors can look to even hedge their futures bet in the later rounds of the playoffs.
New York Islanders +1200
The Islanders weren’t projected to be this good in the 2014-2015 season. Battling and going back forth all season with the Penguins for first place in the Metropolitan Division, the Islanders have awesome value, especially if they can win the Metropolitan Division.
The Islanders have had most success within their division. Against the two teams threatening them for the top spot in the division, Washington and Pittsburgh, the Islanders have gone 4-2 in the 6 match ups against those two.

This is a risk/reward type of futures bet. If the Islanders can beat out Pittsburgh and Washington for the division, these odds will drop significantly for the playoffs. If the Islanders cannot take the spot, the odds may go up.
LONGSHOT: Washington Capitals +3300
Grabbing the Capitals at this number is probably the best time to take them. Currently sitting 6th in the Eastern Conference, the Capitals have the experience and have Alexander Ovechkin to lead them into a playoff spot.
With a tight Eastern Conference expected down the stretch, the Capitals have a chance to either be near the top of the standings or can just as easily fall out of playoff contention.
Another risk/reward bet here, but if the Capitals can get some momentum and make the playoffs as just a middle of the pack team, a hedge opportunity could come into play if they advance.
