The Penguins have won three of their last four games overall and are coming off an impressive win Wednesday night over the scorching Detroit Red Wings while the Sens who are 4-5-1 in their last 10 enter off a 2-1 win at Buffalo, in a game they got badly outshot and outplayed.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are finally healthy – they looked dominant with their full roster skating at he same time last night.

The second line of Evgeni Malkin, Patrick Hornqvist and Blake Comeau, all of which have recently spent time on IR combined for two goals and two assists last night and officially gave the Penguins the two insanely dangerous forward lines. Malkin himself has 29 points in 27 career meetings with Ottawa.

It is unclear as to who will be between the pipes for Pittsburgh – Marc-Andre Fleury started last night against Detroit and maintained his solid recent play. Fleury is 3-0-0 in his last three games with a 0.33 GAA and .985 save percentage – one goal against in his last three starts!

But after playing last night we could see Thomas Greiss between the pipes. He is 1-1-0 win his last two games with a 4.00 GAA and .837 save percentage – quite a difference!

The Ottawa Senators have fallen out of the playoff picture and the news could be worse if Bobby Ryan is forced to sit out another game due to muscle cramping. It is unclear if Ottawa’s best player will miss more time, but if he does suit up there is a chance that he could be less than 100% – not good!

Ottawa will obviously need all hands on deck and for some superstars to snap out of recent funks – Erik Karlsson has just one point in his last four games, Kyle Turris has just one goals in his last 14 games and Clarke MacArthur and Marc Methot are pointless in their last four.

Karlsson has just one goal in 10 games against Pittsburgh but does have nine assists over that span.

It is expected that Robin Lehner will make his seventh consecutive start for the injured Craig Andersen.

[dfads params=’groups=64161&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Lehner has been OK – he is 2-4-0 despite a 2.35 goals-against average in his last six starts but just isn’t getting the offensive support needed.

NHL Gambling Trends

• PIT are 12-4 in their last 16 vs. Atlantic.
• Over is 10-4-2 in PIT last 16 Thu. games.
• PIT are 4-9 in their last 13 road games.
• OTT are 1-10 in their last 11 vs. Metropolitan.
• Under is 24-3-1 in OTT last 28 vs. Metropolitan.
• Over is 6-1-3 in OTT last 10 games following a win.
• PIT are 9-3 in the last 12 meetings.

The Penguins are 5-1-1 in the last seven matchups. They should win this game too! But the play here is the Over – 5 1/2 goals.

This looks like a 4-2 or 5-2 game to me.

Something tells me the underwhelming Thomas Greiss is on net for Pittsburgh and that the healthy Penguins will have no problem putting the puck behind Robin Lehner.

The Over – 5 1/2 goals
