The Lightning enter Monday night’s contest Hot – they have won seven of their last eight games overall while the Flyers have gone just 4-5-1 in their last 10 games overall.
To make matters worse for Philadelphia – goaltender Steve Mason will miss the game with a lower body injury forcing the Flyers to turn to unflattering backup Ram Emery.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have won three straight games heading into the week and continue to lead the NHL in terms of offense – they have 140 goals on the season – six more than second best Chicago who have 134.
Goals should be easy to come by Monday – although they scored just twice in a 2-1 win Friday against Buffalo, they had an astounding 27 shots in the second period.
Steven Stamkos continues to lead the way offensively for Tampa – he has 24 goals already this season and has nine goals and four assists in his last eight games against the Flyers.
Ondrej Palat has nine points in his last five games, Nikita Kucherov has seven points in five games, Jonathan Drouin has three points in three games and Cedric Paquette has two points in his last two contests.
Altogether the Lightning own two of the most potent lines in the NHL – they are nearly impossible to totally contain and will be especially tough for a Flyers team that surrenders 2.88 goals per game.

It remains to be seen who will start in net for the Lightning – Ben Bishop has won three straight games against Philadelphia posting a 1.67 GAA over that span and is 2-0-0 in his last two starts with a 1.50 GAA.
Evgeni Nabokov on the other hand is Nabokov 0-2-1 in his last three starts with a 2.88 GAA and .877 GAA
The Philadelphia Flyers will be without goaltender Steve Mason on Monday night – not a good sign with the Lightning coming to town. Ray Emery will get the start – he is 0-2-0 with a 5.07 GAA and ugly .739 save percentage in his last two starts.
Emery has lost four straight starts to the Lightning with a 4.03 goals-against average, including the first meeting between these teams this season. Defenseman Nicklas Grossman will also miss Monday’s game leaving the Flyers very thin on the back end.
At least Philadelphia has a strong offense right?

They are averaging 2.64 goals on the year, nearly three quarters of a goal per game less than the Lightning.
Brayden Schenn and Vincent Lecavalier are each pointless in their last three games and the Flyers are coming off a listless performance against he Bruins in which they scored just one goal.
Simply put the Flyers aren’t a very good team – they are three games below .500 for a reason.
