Sporting the league’s top offense and power play, not to mention an underrated crowd atmosphere, the Caps have turned the Verizon Center into a tough place to visit. The Caps, who have won seven straight games and haven’t lost at home this month, are fresh off a 7-2 drubbing of the New York Islanders last night. The scariest part about that win? Alex Ovechkin didn’t get a point.
We can’t take the Ducks lightly, especially since Washington goaltender Jose Theodore suffered a lower-body injury last night and won’t play. They certainly have some talented forwards in Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry and Bobby Ryan. But they’re paying their fourth straight road game and second in as many nights.
Eventually, someone will take the Caps down a notch, but they just have too many advantages tonight.
