Two of the hotter teams in the NHL meet on one of eleven NHL games on Tuesday night. The Colorado Avalanche are comfortably in a playoff position while it may be too late for the St. Louis Blues who currently sit five points out of eighth place in the Western Conference.

For those waiting for the Colorado Avalanche to fade in the Western Conference, it appears that you will be waiting a long time. The Avs are 6-4 in their last 10 games and are currently on a mini two game winning streak and currently sit sixth in the Western Conference. Milan Hejduk has returned after a long stint on injured reserve and has injected more potency into an already competent lineup.

The seventh ranked offense in the NHL has been carried this year by youngsters. Chris Stewart has scored eight goals and has ten assists in his last ten games and rookie Marr Duchene has not showed that he is ready to slow down in the least. Paul Stastny leads the team in points and has been very good lately. Craig Anderson and Peter Budaj have combined for a .925 save percentage and eight shutouts this season. The Avalanche are a very good team and deserve their playoff position.

The St. Louis Blues were a playoff team last year and thanks to an underwhelming first two thirds of this NHL season, they are on the outside of the playoff picture looking in. They have gone 7-3 in their last 10 games but still sit seven points out of the eighth and final playoff position in the West.
Sports Betting at the Sportsbook
The St. Louis Blues have an offensively challenged club. They sit in the bottom third of the NHL in offense and only have one player with twenty goals. Andy Mcdonald and Alex Steen have been the best Blues lately on offense and TJ Oshie has finally started to realize his potential. Goaltender Chris Mason has been a bit of a disappointment this season but has finally started to turn his play around.

The St. Louis Blues have had an impressive record of late but have largely been beating up on lesser teams. Colorado surely isn’t a lesser team. St. Louis has been awful on home ice this season with a 12-16-5 record. Expect a low scoring game as under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings in St. Louis and is 12-5-1 in their last 18 meetings overall. Colorado is just too strong and has too much to play for.
