Tied at 1 game apiece Boston can take solace in the fact that they were the better team for long stretches in the first two games of the series but have to be wary of a confident Canadiens team in front of their home town crowd. Control of the series is on the line Tuesday night in what has all the makings of yet another classic game in this Original Six rivalry.
The Boston Bruins definitely have some room for improvement as we head into Game 3 – the biggest of which is on Special Teams. Through two games, the Bruins penalty kill has surrendered four goals on nine chances and the power play is pointless in six tries.

Tuukka Rask has yet to find his form in the first two games of the series so far as well – he has surrendered seven goals and surprisingly has a sub-.900 save percentage.
Offensively Boston has to hope to get a bit more from their top line – Jarome Iginla, David Krejci and Milan Lucic haven’t exactly been their dominant selves thus far – Lucic has an empty net goal and an assist and Krejci has an assist in the playoffs so far but that’s about it.

However Dougie Hamilton has two goals and four assists during a five-game point streak and Patrice Bergeron has two goals and six assists during a six-game point streak – they have been terrific and have kept the Bruins right in this series thus far.
The Montreal Canadiens have to be happy for the three days off and the split they earned in Boston. The Habs have now won seven of the last nine games against Boston and look like they type of team that will give the Bruins fits for the rest of the series.
Montreal will definitely get a boost from their home town crown and they could use it! The Habs have coughed up leads in the third period of both games so far and could use the crowd to keep the Bruins from gaining momentum.
Thomas Vanek woke up with two goals in Game 2 and PK Subban continues to look like the most dangerous D-man in the series – a good sign for the Montreal Canadiens as they head home for Game 3. Carey Price has outplayed Tuukka Rask in the first two games of the series so far – another good sign for the Habs going forward.

Despite being outplayed in both games in Boston the Canadiens, to a man are saying the right things. They know they have to be better and on Tuesday night I think they rise to the occasion.
Montreal isn’t scared of the Big Bad Bruins – particularly on home ice. Montreal continues their recent dominance over Boston and rides the wave of confidence they got while splitting the first two games in Boston.
